The accuracy of the accent is not my issue. I personally find it grating to be listening to "Kath & Kim in Space" & the jokes this time round are falling flat for me. I am only a little way in but I have already had an attack of buyers remorse despite adoring the first two installments.
Guess I'll see how it goes...
I actually had to leave the game and check out wtf a billabong was. I've heard the brand name before but... I've never heard of what a billabong actually was. I find all of the expressions are just cutting and take away from the experience.
Nothing against Australians, they have some of the best actors in the world... but it really just sounded very bad in this game.
not sure if you realized it or not but billabong is actually an australian company
This more or less, I know alot of aussies, since im from NZ its bound to happen, and NONE of them use that irritating voice, i was playing muted till i got off the moon, then a freind said they were gone and well, it was back to normal.
Up until that point they might as well have been speaking chinese half the time.
Perhaps they should have put the normal half in first and the over the top aussie installment in the second half, because as a first impression, the game isnt funny, and has grating accents you dont want to hear.
Not the best first impression a title with that much of a fanbase should be putting out there.

These things explain so much why I'm not getting anything heh. I didn't even realize the names Peepot, swagman or Tuckerbags were little jokes or Memes. I was thinking they were just made up words that wernt even funny ^_^.
With all the weird slang words, it gets you thinking what the hell are they talking about? Which is what would happen if you were to go to somewhere unknown. For me the words are pretty standard as I'm Australian, but they've taken it to the "Crocodile Dundee Australian". Not all Aussies talk like the people in game do :)
Finally, we can see some of Australian culture in a game. I am SICK of American accents, and I want some ♥♥♥♥ to be made closer to home. I can think of only 4 films that feature a falcon or commodore, and less than 10 that have Aussie accents. This game is so refreshing, it really is.
We have to listen to your lingo all the time ;)
Nothing wrong with all that except pre-existing characters, most notably Tiny Tina should not be toyed with. Tiny Tina in TPS is grating to listen to, Lilith is flat, Rolland who cares, bit Tina, just awful.
edit: Falcons are cool, Commodore ICK (spoken like a true Ford fan LOL)
The Austrailian accent is fine and a nice change of pace.
I am a bit dismayed to know that Tiny Tina does not sport her trademark dialect in this game though, but am nonetheless curious to hear what it is like.
My only complaints about 2K Austrailia taking the game into their own hands are completely unrelated to the voice acting. (Namely, the heavy increase in one-time missable challenges, severe lack of fast travel stations, and annoying vehicle handling that dealt far too many deaths in the beginning of the game.)
