Looked cool though.
When they put out the big versions of current cards. The titian, 980 ti, or 990. Something big, and with 6+ gb of Vram. After seeing sli, I want a single big card with lots of Vram and horsepower.
They are expected to come out after AMD puts out their cards early 2015.
Incorrect. GTX 970 and GTX 980 don't need the 384-bit bus because Maxwell reduces the memory bandwidth that's needed. L2 Cache on Kepler was 256 KB but on Maxwell it's 2 MB. That combined with Maxwell's better color compression reduces bandwidth needed by 17%-29%, apparently:

That and GTX 970 is simply faster than GTX 780. OP didn't make a bad choice but he/she easily could have gotten GTX 970 for the same or better price.
Before I tried sli, I had a 750 ti for physx that worked great in "BL2" with the 780. That 750 ti is now in my back up rig. I might have to pull it back out for this game.
i was incorrect when i said 980 will definetly check this card out
A) They don't know that GTX 970 outperforms GTX 780 and runs cooler, quieter, draws less power, outputs less heat and overclocks better.
OR
B) They want one but can't because they're sold out everywhere. So they settled for GTX 780 because it's likely a huge upgrade from whatever they have anyways.
GTX 970 is THE card to beat right now. Glad I got one.
It depends. The 780 seems scale better when OC'ed. 780 ti's are beating even 980's sli'ed at 4k.

I do wish they'd make it more clear what their clocks are. They seem have a golden 780, but, I know my 780 can do 1341 on air before becoming unstable without unlocking the voltage.
I'm waiting for the big dogs myself.
