What IDIOT disabled Local Co-Op for the PC Port
This goes all the way back to Borderlands 1, which I never got on PC because it had no Local Co-Op and I couldn't play with people in the same room unless I was on the console version. Then Borderlands 2, again, no Local Co-Op, I wanted it but I decided not to buy it and thought surely if I waited they'd add Local Co-Op eventually because a lot of people demanded it. No dice. Now this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, and again, no Local Co-Op. I won't buy this game or any other Borderlands game unless it has Local Co-Op on the PC version because I shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ console just to play in a room with friends and family.

Who is the IDIOT in charge of this? Fire that person.

wait, do you meansplit screen or LAN? because every game has had the option to use LAN. Split-screen would be really annoying unless you have a giant computer screen.

Split Screen, because that's the only local multiplayer you can play in the same room unless you have multiple monitors and multiple copies of the game, without using a hack that runs the same executable twice at low resolution and wrecks the screen.

A standard 1080p monitor is more than big enough for split screen, there are already several split screen games that work just fine on PC, and there's no reason it wouldn't work on PC if it can work on a TV with console, besides which anyone can just hook their PC into their TV for like $12.

ah, well split screen would be nice, but having half a screen would suck unless you have a pretty big screen, and one person might have to use a gamepad, which would also suck. I just dont think that split screen works with PC. Unless you have a large screen, of course.

I have a standard 1080p monitor and play several games split screen. My nephew is quite fond of Sonic Adventure 2 and Portal 2, by the way, Portal 2 has split screen local co-op and full gamepad support and no one's ever complained about it.

This game has full gamepad support, the console version has split screen.

This game has full gamepad support, it's also on console, and has local co-op on console. A lot of people use gamepad already for single player and online multiplayer.

Alright, you've got me. Split screen would be useful though i wouldnt use it, my computer simply aint powerful enough, and i just haaate useing controllers for first person shooters of any kind.
I use a gamepad for this game, works great. Am hopeless in these games with kb/m

I guess split screen would be useful for SOME but I think most are like me, the P in PC is PERSONAL. I have my little 24" 1920X1200 display and NOT going to share the real-estate with anyone. We have 3 PCs, each has Borderlands and Borderlands 2 (dif Steam accounts) we play CO-OP that way. Consoles are on the TV, they are in the family area and fit right in with the split screen thing. I guess if my PC was on a big TV, but, I don't have one of those things, my only TV is an old 32" CRT that collects dust. No, maybe not even then, I think it would be distracting. Anyway I am NOT against a game having it but for me it would be useless and it may be that most PC users feel the same or they think we do is why it is not there.

I would have thought that considering the problems some players have with lag and frame rates you could probably run a split screen or second player but you might have to do it at 720p or console quality graphics.

There are quite a few games with a 2 player mode and split screen, the majority don't, this is one of them.

Traditional LAN works fine, up to 4 PCs the same as PC LAN co-op has been for +20yrs, maybe they'll put a console/arcade style split screen for BL3 but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Not every PC gamer is a cave troll with no friends or family, some of us have people over.

There are several games that run at 1080p Split Screen Local Co-Op already and there's no reason for a game to have local Co-Op on Console but not PC.

We can't all be rich enough to buy three rigs capable of running the game with separate monitors and controls and three separate copies of the game and we don't all even have the living space to accomidate such a set up but even if I had a room full of PCs the experience would be less enjoyable than sitting on a couch playing split screen with my friends and nephew on a monitor or tv.

If people's PC can't handle local co-op that's one thing, some people need to upgrade their hardware, but if it will run split screen on console and if it's possible to run multiple executables and lan it to do an artifical split screen then there's no reason the game shouldn't have legit split screen.

I think there is a mod out there for it.

I have several PCs and I like separate screen better, so I never messed with the split-screen mod.

So, because I prefer to play one person on my PC, I am a cave troll?

So, now I am not so much a cave troll as rich? I did not buy my PCs, I built them and not all in the same day. My Wife's PC is on this desk, that I built, her seat is just enough to my right to allow me room for my mouse mat. I can glance over at her display, she can glance over at mine. If you like sitting on a couch then good for you, consoles are calling to you, nothing wrong with that, I think they are perfect for that. We like keyboard/mouse for games like this, she uses a controller for platform games though.

As I said before you decided to call me a cave troll is that I have no problem with them adding that but it is not something I would use.

Now I am confused, am I a cave troll, am I rich, am I a rich cave troll? :cwat:

Is there a reason that you think your personal preferences should be forced onto everyone else? Is there a reason you're unable to comprehend the possibility that other people might actually have people over in the same room with them?

Well don't you just have a special set of circumstances. You still had to buy three copies of the game, unless you illegally downloaded it.

I shouldn't have to spend $300+ dollars on a console to access options from a game that's on PC, if a PC game has options on a console it should have the same options on PC, besides I enjoy a variety of PC games, but I also happen to have people over in the same room with me and when I do it's nice to be able to fire up multiplayer games, PC Devs shouldn't arbitrarily restrict PC gamer's ability to share in experiences in the same room when console gamers can.

If people are running a ten year old system with a 768p monitor or less than 4gb of ram yeah they need to upgrade or they aren't going to be able to play a lot of games.

Everyone else shouldn't have options taken away from them just because some people have crappy rigs.

Were you REALLY too stupid to read what I said?

"As I said before you decided to call me a cave troll is that I have no problem with them adding that but it is not something I would use."

Oh yes, I think my way or the highway, WAIT, that's right, I said I had not problem with that feature being in game, I only said I would not use it.

I think your name is accurate.
