Final boss in Claptastic Voyage is incredibly cheap
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVVzGzf7j2s

Bosses are supposed to be hard, yes i get it, but this is just lazy, lazy game design. If this was Eclipse the Invincible I might understand, but it isn't even a raid boss. Many, many people are showing their disdain for this boss. He has way too much health and dishes out way too much damage. Gearbox needs to fix this as soon as they can.

Problems with this boss on ALL difficulty settings (maybe not normal, but true and ultimate for sure).

- Shields are way too resilient. His health seems to be OK, but his shields soak up way too much damage.

- Damage done by him is off the charts. Pretty much takes your shields and a portion of your health with one rocket. Good luck getting away as there's even more rockets coming after you.

- You can't shoot through the "safe room" barrier, but he sure can. That's entirely fair.

- Can't even safely resupply my ammo because his rockets can come inside the safe room.

Gearbox needs to fix this. Not many people are having a good time and it's turning people away. They must do something about this. I'm not saying make it easy, but make it fair. Even having the barrier block the rockets would be a huge game changer.

He's difficult, yes. I've only fought him on UVHM, and opened my game to the public because I was struggling. My friend took one of the slots, two randomers the last two, and it took our team of four level 51/2's over an hour to bring down Eclipse/EOS.

Obviously when you die in coop the boss doesn't reset, so that's how we managed. Solo, it took me about ten minutes to get his shield down, constantly firing and dodgin, but I'd inevitably get killed by his rockets as my FFYL time got shorter.

However, I've seen Bahroo's video of taking dow Eclipse in two shots and EOS in one, though that's more down to the Baroness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLB8_GI8Y4Y

He's difficult, but he's been praised as one of the best bosses in the series.

Take in account u do it couple of times, i like the look of the boss in his two forms, but wayy too health.

It need to be reduced by far, shouldn't be easy but not spend much time killing him, that a waste.

He's ridiculous. "Matchmaking" doesn't seem to bring up any results for me so I can't even get help. I've tried making my game public but no-one joined. I just want to finish this stupid DLC.

boss was lv 42 i think in normal i killed him in normal on lv 48 with wilheilm had so much trouble with this boss in bl2 normal bosses in dlc where easy you could clear them in like 2 min with a rocket launcher

I noticed that your main complaint was thae the rockets would down you easily, saying that shooting the rockets was hard, it made the boss fight unfair, etc. Get any shotgun, preferably hyperion, and use that to shoot the rockets, it makes the boss fight so much easier and more fun. Though i've gotta agree with the spawn barrier not blocking the rockets, that sucks and was annoying. Maybe i'll record me killing SH4DOW-TP, ECLIPSE, and EOS solo, maybe.

I don't remember any bosses in BL2 that could be cleared with RLs ... well without "shamfleeting". I always felt RLs in BL2 were just useful for getting 2nd winds and not much else.

I have beaten EOS solo at level 70 with 2 chars now.

Wilhelm was the hardest, but because I only had beam lasers which are useless against EOS.

Get a good shock blaster and corrosive blaster and it will make the fight easier.

I stay on the lower center bridge a lot and move from side to side opposite of EOS. Lots of places to hide and plenty of ammo gens. Really it is the mobs that make it hard, but hopefully they will provide some 2nd winds too.

It is a long, long fight, no doubt.

Yeah, you got a great deal with the final boss. You got him free with the purchase of the DLC.

My main complaint isn't that his rockets are strong. I mean they are, but thats besides the point. MY main complaint is that the barrier doesn't negate his attacks. Ultimately making the "safe room" a "death room". You hardly have enough time to create a gameplan and resupply ammo. Its silly when I can spend ALL my money on the health machine without leaving the room because he keeps shooting rockets INTO THE F***ING SAFE ROOM!

Ah, well i've got to agree with you there, the rockets flying into the room and killing is really annoying. In the video you seemed to be talking about the rockets one-hitting you quite a bit, and that IS annoying and un-fair

yeah your right that i find stupid i expected we could shoot from the safe room to avoid dmg and try to get ammo if your every 2 min in ffyl normal mode should be easy every qquest uptil the boss was around 35 but boss is in the 40 i found that stupid even bl2 dlc normal bosses where easy

Agree with this point, disagree with the rest.

dont even knowh why his shield restores like 2 times just like zarpadon fight bosses never had shield restore in a borderlands game atleast not in tvhm or normal only uvhm has regen its like they wanted to make this game harder cause ppl complaining bl2 is to easy
SlackerBoe Apr 17, 2015 @ 8:04pm
I half agree ith you there. The shield restores are just annoying. Especially with the mandatory wait times. But other than the bullet spongy annoyingess, I don't find EOS all that difficult. All he has that's threatening is the rockets and they caught me off guard the first time. Now I jump betwwen the sides of that straight area where Eclipse jumps foreward and backwards on. You can use the metal beams to help block the rockets and shoot the few that might make it past. The turrets themselves can't take much and can be picked off one by one. Once there gone he's just a annoyance. They actually soft scaled UVHM this time around, so it's a ton easier than broderlands 2.

Sooo... you agree with him being able to shoot into the safe room? :3 Thats one of my main concerns. His missles are strong, but arent that bad if you do your best to evade/destory them. But the fact he can kill you before you even enter his lair is just dumb.
