Are you running in steam 'offline' mode? this will default you to LAN mode to be sure.
Are you all connecting directly to the same router? hard connections or wireless?
Are you all using fixed IP addresses?
You are probably better off creating exceptions rather than disabling your firewall.
Steam isn't offline. The network setting in-game is LAN, though.
I'm using a LAN cable to the router, and he's on wifi. We've tried switching it around, though, and no dice.
Can't say I know about the IP settings. Never messed with it before.
(Also we tried making exceptions and allowing it through the firewall, and when it didn't work we tried disabling it entirely, and still no dice. Thanks for the response, though.)
The main thing that irks me about this is that his computer isn't even trying to search. Makes me think it's something on his end. With mine when I hit Find Games on LAN, it has the spinning vault symbol and says it's looking. His immediately shows nothing found.
