Carying higher level gear than my character is (now with video)

What the actual ♥♥♥♥ 2k aus?!?!?!? didn't notice it at first, but i bought a gun it says level requirement 22 whilst I'm lvl 20, and i'm able to use it?!?
Git your ♥♥♥♥ together 'cause this is what makes me want to leave this game alone!!!

Did you play with someone in co-op recently?

you can use gear higher leveled than you if you have op level unlocked for it
like if you have op5, you can use level 25 gear as a level 20

Strange usually you can't wear weapons higher then your character lvl (it even has red window when you check your weapon in inventory)

unless your saves got changed by cheat which usually happens ether if you cheat (of course not claiming you are) or you joined with someone in co-op who did cheat and it added same values to your characters saves which can happen I heard some people started to get all the sudden all orange weapons from any mob they kill etc.

I haven't the slightest idea what has happened. I do not cheat, i bought the weapon from a vending machine, and no it did not have the red outlining. I only discovered it when i was checking out my guns.

It seems the game is so broken it lets me use higher level gear. For this, I have no more faith that the game will be any good soon. The new DLC might be awesome from what I've heard, but how can anyone release a game where something like this is possible? They really killed a franchise here.

and I.L.I.F.I.S.L.M. I don't think OP is even available for this game yet, even if it would be there is no way someone would achieve OP at level 20 during mid-game.
This is simply an outrage and I hope they will never let 2K Australia make a Borderlands game again.

I'm so in love with the franchise that I just cannot believe what the hell happened.

you can add op levels in gibbed no matter what level you are. if you installed a save that has op levels added it goes to all your saves.

How about what items you wear aside of gun? Reason I asking because maybe some items give you ability to wear higher lvl gun, I never saw one but can't wrap my head around this one it shouldn't be possible to equip it if you 2 levels lower.

Thanks for including my screenshot in the post, I'm a noob when it comes to that.
I was about to make a list for you with what my character is holding, when I saw I am holding yet another level 22 gun!! Things keep getting weirder since my granade mod is level 24 (!!!) and my Ozkit is level 23! This means my game is broken like hell right?!?!? I have leveled to 21 now though this still should not be possible!!!
Here's the list though:
Level 22 Trickshot Revolver (luneshine)
Level 15 Disposible Subcompact SMG
Level 20 Oxidizing Venus Beam
Level 22 Fusion Refracted Splitter (the gun I was initially talking about)
Level 15 Inflexible Cryo Spike Shield
Level 6 Cowgirl Classmod
Level 24 Homing Granade (this is an outrage)
Level 23 Voltaic Juggernaut Ozkit

I'm making a video at the moment and I will post it here so you guys know what I'm talking about.
No hacking was done here, and I'm in shock by the other items that are a higher level than I am, I didn't notice at first.

Yea nothing in description of equips you have doesn't sugest to give extra levels I also checked Nisha skill tree same deal nothing guess you bumped into one heck of glitch.

Same here, was looking for an explanation in the skill tree but it's not in there.
I messaged gearbox with this problem, the funny thing is there is NO possible way to contact 2k Australia other than an oldskool letter. I'm from Europe, the hell I'm going to send them a letter. it's 2015 for gods sake.
Broken game by a broken company, I'm so disappointed.
