Which tree to level up first? (Nisha)
The reason I ask this is it's just easier...I makes sure I don't waste my time with a tree that's useless to me currently. It's like leveling Krieg's Hellborn tree at the beginning of the game when you have no gear/health to support that tree.

I'm very new to Nisha, I mainly play support/tank roles like Athena/Axton. However sometimes I do enjoy exploring the lonewolf roles, Zer0 and now Nisha.

tanky player?
first time in the game? first toon?
no badass points? no gear?
for me the choice was simple.
NISHA with LAW & ORDER tree first
and was not in the slightest bit disappointed.
this tree requires no gear to function well.
this tree is all about survival efficiency with some unique buffs.
HOWEVER
if i were to do it all again,
I would first putpoints into BONAFIDE GRIT on RIFLEWOMAN tree
because one thing that BLTPS does do (until uvhm) is provide constant one shot trash, which with a constant heal buff would keep you moving forward aggressively.
but then when you can respec to have a total of 20 and better law stacks do so.
then while leveling further recommit points back to bonafide grit again.
then when you can get the next tier of 5 cap for law stacks again respec again.
by the time you are level to get 'BLOOD OF THE GUILTY' do so. then also dump points into "JURISDICTION" do so, as it makes the toon wonderfully tanky.
by the time you have taken the capstone of LAW & ORDER,
continute the process of putting slop ponits to bonafide grit.

that is until you get enough points to put a full 5 spec into BOTTLED COURAGE
On the middle tree.
this is the first point where you will want a specific piece of gear and is your genuine first game changer by following this path.
at this point you will have sufficient access to deep turtle shields.
and this is what the trick is. you go turtle shield with nisha beacuse the attacks against her which proc law stacks come more handily but are also more negligable because of both the bloat of the raw shield value and her gimped amount of hps qualifies more incoming damage to proc stacks of law and its benefits. this is also a point where you realize that your survival is vastly even more efficient because it is litereally now toggleable under the wooby of a nice fat turtle shield insta recharge....connected to the games quickest special cooldown.
so ya. its good being Nisha.

I would probably say the Law & Order tree with some points in the riflewoman tree. Fan the hammer last, not because it's bad, but you can manage without it and there are some more potent skills from the other 2 trees. There's a skill in Law & Order tree that gives her 1% dmg per order stack, if you selected the right ones, there's a total of 30 stacks which gives you 30% increase in gun dmg. Adding the Raring to go kill skill gives her 2% gun dmg per stack which is 60% increase making it 90% total bonus damage. Then, from the Riflewoman tree bonafide grit gives you 35% crit bonus + 2% healing per kill.

As you progress and start to level up Riflewoman and Fan the hammer, Nisha becomes Salvadoresque.

my reccommendation is for tankiness and new player friendly, needs no specific or great gear.
middle tree is fun but it kinda blows with some very specific weapon types to function well.
ie non-elemental, low magazine cap etc.
the Law&Order tree in general + the first 5 pts in RifleWoman and first 10 pts in FTH round out all of your tankiness. its because of the content with its constant flow of trash that proves the first 5 pts in rifle woman to perhaps be the best survival investment overall...short of boss fights.
Im definitely not a fan of 'kill skills' but the content of the game proves their utility valid for most situations.

heals come as procs with law and order, as activation for shield refill in FTH and as dependable investment in riflewoman. while leveling you are free to focus your fires on badass and then occaisionally dump on one shot trash mobs to keep the HoT up from kill skill while enjoying the proc buffs plus utilitizing the action skill to mitigate incoming damage spikes is what makes Nisha gorgeously efficient and able to toe to toe with just about anything. going in undergeared and unerleveled vs bosses is somehting Nisha can sustain for fun epic 20+ minute fights to get your epic on. (iwajira on tvhm before the tragic nerf for example)
What to level up first? Whatever you want. Play how you want to play.
That's it.

If you want to be told how to play, go play it how someone else wants you to play.

If you need help, you have issues.
And that issue isn't my problem.
