Why So Few Legendary Drops?
Just got Wilhelm to 50 after defeating Sentinel. In the entire run I found only 1 useable legendary and that was a random drop from a scav. I saw one in a vending machine once as well but didn't have enough money. This low drop rate makes finding chests pointless since generally all they ever have is Green and White.

It sux doesn't it. I don't know why either, but it's a shame the Borderlands games are so stingy with their legendary weapon drops. Makes no sense to me - what difference does it make to the developers if we get legendaries more frequently or not? And, apparently they upped the rate of drops recently too, but you'd barely know it. :/

It sucks, Yes but its better then Borderlands 2. Gearbox want us to "earn" out Legendary instead of handing it out like it was nothing.

It's not better than BL2 at least for blues and purples. In TPS I can go through something like 8 levels and never change weapons because I never find anything better. In BL2 I always got at least one new weapon on every map. It's not really the dearth of gold I'm bothered with, it's the lack of gameplay variety when you're stuck with the same weapons for hours - and these out-of-way chests that I can't be bothered with (because 99.99% of the time they just have green/white) means pointless content.

Huh, I noticed the exact oppisite. I have about 35 Oranges from my time with my lvl 42 Nisha, which is more then I ever got in either previous game

Subject for this thread was wrong. By "drops" I meant just the chance of finding a legendary anywhere. Drop rate for legendaries is indeed high relatively speaking. I've gotten 3 from random mob members with 2 characters. One I just happened to run across where I wasn't expecting it to be - imagine just walking by and spotting a legendary on the ground! It's important to comb the area where a mob has been. I never saw this kind of high drop rate in the series before. Way cool! So my experience is the same as the last two posters.

Finding legendaries in chests though is very very rare (not one yet), which is what I was complaining about.

There are alot legendaryes when you defeat some hidden bosses in game.
Also you can create legendaryes in Grinder machine.
Best are Legendary + Luneshine options, witch can produce with moonstones.

Dang lucky! With a friend we played together from 1 to 30 and we found ONLY one orange item and it was a stupid oz kit useless... BL games are very cheap with loots. This is the only reason I dont play them much. Farming is insanely not rewarding. I wish they could improve it. A killed many bosses that only dropped a crappy green weapon. Not even a blue one. :(

Keep checking the Med and Weapon machines, I have been finding a lot of Orange in them.
You'll need some cash, at level 10 the orange weapons are about 30k.
