That said, I'm still hoping that the next one has an explode punch thing for some reason.
1st - Lilith
2nd - Maya
3rd - Angel
others are unknown by now
Commandant Steele was another, but she died in BL1
It's set between Borderlands 1 & 2.
I think Jack says that there can only be 6 at one time, so does that mean that like in the last airbender, when one dies another is born?
Actually yes, according to a comic, I believe.
I always played as the Siren, too
Also, five Sirens have been established in canon, three of which are still alive during the presequel (Lilith, Maya and Angel) and two who might have been replaced by then newly born ones: Steele and an old Siren that comes to Lilith when the Firehawk is a child. Lilith was young enough when that happened that Maya or Angel might have been the one born as the old Siren died, which would give us a total of two possible Sirens we know nothing about plus one baby born when Steele died.
Jack knew about Maya, as per the ECHO recordings about her past. That makes three.
Now, onto the topic: I may don´t want a siren, but MAYBE it would be interesting to see an artificial male siren (in the lore only womans can be sirens), a test subject that Hyperion has been filling with eridium on several process, but eventually just die out of eridium exposure and by the time Borderlands 2 arrives he´s suppose to be already death.
This would allow for the class to be present in the game, while not necessary adding a new siren or contradicting the lore.
Strictly speaking it's not an error. Steele is dead by that point. He knows about the three active known Sirens.
My friend...Angel. Angel knew about commandant steele, Angel was been controlled every single time by Jack, there´s even some echo recordings of Jack telling Angel the same lines she says the player at the begging of the first game. There´s a not a single step the original Vault Hunters did make that Angel was not aware, and therefor, Jack. The whole Borderlands 1 plot is in fact nothing but a lie of Handsome Jack to obtain Eridium from The Destroyer´s Vault. Jack not knowing who Stelle is is very unlikely, impossible may I even say. Heck, the whole ECHOnet was hacked by Angel by order of Jack, he may have even heard Steele´s messages to the Vault Hunters.
No, Jack knew 4 sirens so far that we know of. Maybe he says "I know 3" in the message because he was not counting Steele as she was dead and therefor that Siren "spot" in the universe was now another new born child and he didn´t know who was, or maybe the message was recorder prior to him knowing about Maya (he deffinitelly wants sirens and in Maya´s backstory recordings the moment he knows about her he want Angel to do anything she can to bring her to Pandora). SO, there may be a reason for him to say 3 other than 4 without being the writers mistake, but Jack not knowing Steele is not one of them.
