What's your favorite Borderlands game and why?
So I've been playing or replaying all Borderlands games and I've been wondering the same thing.

It's the first time I play the Pre-Sequel and I'm enjoying it, but there are some things that irritate me a lot. I can never get the jumping right and so I've died many things in platform sessions... same thing with cars and how far/up they can go across gaps...

And the map is as confusing as ever. My general feelings is that a game developed outside Gearbox it lacks the same finish as BL1 and 2

I've played all of the BL series games for +/- 6,500 hours (BL1 BL2 TPS + TOTB) and TPS is my favorite so far but BL2 was pretty close behind. Don't worry ~ Gearbox was firmly in charge of developing TPS but was too busy w/ other assignments @ the beginning of building TPS to take it further, so they transferred all the files, the screenplay & the concept art to their related company 2K Games Australia [2K is GBX BL series publisher] for them to finish building the main game. 2K Aus was only two devs & an asst, they couldn't keep up the schedule all alone so 2K & GBX did a deal to close 2K Games Aus & take the employees into GBX USA.. @ that point the usual GBX USA team took over development and finished the main game & did all the work on the DLCs (including the best in the series imo ~ Claptastic Voyage). And there we have TPS lol.

Yeah, I loved TPS' improvements to the Skill Trees, the Playables, the weapons & new stuff like fighting while airborne & fighting in a vacuum, doing away with slag, inventing the awesome new element cryo & the new gun series ~ lasers etc. I know I'm "not supposed to" love TPS best cos the reviewers didn't but whadda they know & I never read reviews anyway lol. Happy gaming :steamhappy:

Borderlands 2 mobs, level design and map design are my favorite even though there linear but the scammy paywall customization heads are really bad.

W/ TPS new game mechanic is awesome the feeling of running out of air added more tension but the map and level design is quite infuriating and a mess. Seriously I need to go back to a single route instead of giving me an alternative route in the early game then in the late game there over the place w/ platforms.

Low oxygen mechanic is just miss opportunity w/ map design in early game.

Early mobs are annoying, late game mobs are decent.

This one, the Pre-Sequel.

Oh and why?
Idk, i like the Music and the overall Theme more than the other BL games.

borderlands 2 for a couple of reasons. i loved the main and side missions in bl2. they have way more dlc's and i feel like the put more effort in it that in this game. don't get me wrong. i love the presequel, but the side missions are just méh. we got doc nina that give you 2 missions -_- atleast dr zed gives you WAAAAY more. also the presequel just has 1 big dlc, i love it, but i wished they had more.

All things considered I think I'd have to go with BL2 although I really enjoyed some of the things in the Pre-Sequel. The characters had pretty cool abilities (especially Nisha was really fun to play) and the Claptrap DLC is amazing. The mission "You can stop the music" or whatever it's called is utterly hilarious.
Vacuum mechanics and low gravity really annoyed me tho. It's just not a fun mechanic at all and I hate that all sounds are constantly muffled while in vacuum.
Cyro element and laser weapons were a cool addition tho but ultimately the vacuum/low gravity was the deal breaker for me.

Timed missions.... what mission ever was improved by adding a timer to it?

This one's probably the best. The humor's kept me going through the hard parts really well. Even just standing next to a flag waiting for it to be raised got dressed up enough with the goofy colonization critique angle to make shooting 3 enemies very slowly somewhat entertaining. Everyone disliked the oxygen mechanic but if you didn't play as claptrap you made a grave error anyways even ignoring the fact that they don't breath.

1 is basically a proof of concept that's beyond rough in every regard, 2 was a vast improvement on EVERYTHING but still I just couldn't power through it. The plot was so broad and spread so thin that I was having trouble keeping track of what to even care about and had more trouble initially caring about anything so my enthusiasm was basically dead on arrival and the borderlands series isn't known for riveting gameplay.

BL2, it has the most content, plus one of the most generous Season Pass content (Witcher 3 as well) of any game I played.

Not all DLC is that great for BL2, but it's a loot driven game. In the end all I care about is finding nice loot. Vanilla content will become just as 'boring' as DLC, does the story really matter to players after X runs? I don't think so, in that case a little variety like the DLC is very welcome, the more (new added loot) the better.

BL1, It's the only one I never get tired of playing and I also like the general feel and humor a lot more than in the other ones.
