the game is easy once you have a shield around your level and the search for good weapons is the core of the game
and try respec your skills
edit : do the quest Land Among the Stars to get Invigoration Oz Kit ,it helps a lot in the beginning when you have trouble health regen and you dont have a good oz kit
What is the quest level of the main story quest you are working on?
What level are your weapons and gear?
The way this game works, there is a VERY steep damage gradient based on level disparity. The greater the disparity, the less damage you do, and the more you take. This applies to both you and to your gear.
Odds are you've skipped too many side quests. If you go do some lower level side quests and level up (and get better gear), you'll find you're able to progress again.
Note also: Better gear means On Level. The color of your gear is indeed significant, but the level is more important. A White gun that's your level, will, in many cases, be far more effective than an Orange one that's 10 levels old.
Check the various weapon machines, they often have decent, blue quality gear for sale.
Now people say that Jack is a very powerful character, so... you're doing something wrong I guess.
Steam is one of the latter communities. They prefer you to start new threads rather than necro older ones.
went down Athena's middle tech tree which is a melee focus, you get a ton of buffs from slapping enemies with melee and you have an ability that lets you close that distance instantly, like a dash
I'm not finished with the game just yet but the only time I had trouble so far was against Zarpedon because that arena had no almost no cover
if the enemies are an uncomfortably higher level than you, just do some sidequests. they give crazy amounts of XP, thats what they are there for... i've never even used the grinder that other people memtioned because the loot has been mostly fine. don't be afraid to experiment with new weapons.
