Why Can't I play Co-op any more?
My husband and I have played this game together for quite a while, me on windows, and he both on windows and linux (depending on what his machine was running at the time) The update happened, and now we can't play together, no matter what we try. He is currently running linux.

Is this issue going to be fixed? Are we going to have to stop playing one of our favorite games? Does anyone have a workaround?

maybe last update was locked for other consoles for some reason, the work arround could be find the update before the last one.

i was trying to get arround with it too, somehow ended messing with achievements
not that i dont really care now, but welp, leveling up is just grinding as heck

but yeh, is just a soft lock for now, newer patches usually has this issues, lucky enough the game dont crash ur pc or erased the saves

edit : meant to say last patch before the newest, almost always works but well, steam is auto update too

Same here, not happy that they released a PC version without making a way for us to play with our Mac and Linux friends.

Today (4-3-19) Gearbox and 2K released an update for UHD Texture Packs. This update is only for Windows. GearBox and 2K never wrote the game for Mac and Linux. The Port (making it) for Mac and Linux was done by Aspyr Media. Because Windows updated and Mac and Linux did not there is now a compatibility issue (mismatch) between the different OS versions. No official word yet from Ayspyr on if the will or will not be releasing an update for Mac and Linux.

if he switch back to windows (and migrates the save files) you should be back up and running again.

for those of us with out windows machines we just have to wait and see.

hol up, be carefull dealing with savefiles, they can be rewrited and in some cases they actually do worse problems than the fixes can handle,

dealing with save files from other patches can make even pc crashes,
so be really carefull to do such "easy" things

always copy the save files from the last playable versions, and run the game on administrator,
if you can go deeper and try "compatibility" options from the main exe [the game, not the launcher] properties so you can try to have a unstable kinda fix

and be careful, this is not easy to thinkering with,
you must be sure you are agreeing that this is not a safe workaround

You are correcting there is always inherent risk when doing anything with save files. That said copying a save file from one OS to the other is reality low risk.

same here

Same, we were playing without issues yesterday and today Linux players cant play with WIndows ones.

Edit: I have opened a support ticket with aspyr
Edit 2: Apparently its known issue and its being worked on, via Aspyr twitter: https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004860091-Borderlands-2-Mac-Known-Issues

aaah i was talking bout patches savefiles, not same version saved files,
still, even with a low risk, changing OS would matter, tho at low even null risk , it should be considered as well.
