Game Won't Give "Dead Set" Badass Challenge

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, this is about the game not saying the the "Dead Set" challenge is complete (defeat Deadlift without getting shield depleted). Not the "Dead Weight" challenge (defeat Deadlift without using jump pads in story mission).

Anyway, the spousal unit and I were playing a LAN game and completed Dead Set (both of us got the popup saying so). But, her game froze (she was the host). I was able to exit gracefully and the completed challenge persisted correctly. Unfortunatley, her game was totally frozen. She had to force shut down the game. When she brought it back up, her Dead Set still showed incomplete.

No problem. We did it again. It didn't pop. And again. Ditto. The next time, we ran around to the back and shot him as he spawned (he never even fired a shot). She still didn't get the challenge. We're guessing something's messed up in her save file that's preventing the challenge from be marked complete. Anyone have any suggestions for how to get around this (other than complete it in another game run)?

Thanks. I should have thought of that. It re-downloaded 2 files. Went back, shot Deadlift, and got the challenge.
