Zapped 3.0 Quandary [Solved]
Okay, it's been a while since I played this game, but I ran into a possible problem I can't remember how to handle:

I killed all the malfunctioning claptraps and returned to Janey. I heard Torgue's offer, and I am NOT interested; I want to keep the gun Janey promised me I could…but, the game seems to want to FORCE me to comply with Torgue's wishes.

Why won't Janey let me turn in the mission to her?

@ Milk: Years later, I noticed I'd failed to credit the first persaon to offer the answer, you. It was not intentional, and I acknowledge it now in case anyone new wonders, "It says solved...so, who had the answer..?"

If you can't drop a Wombat as the reward for completing Zapped 3.0, you probably haven't completed the mission. Try harder - check some YT vids, study the page http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Zapped_3.0 & make sure you've completed the mission - the Wombat will come. Happy gaming :steamhappy:

I haven't dropped the wombat—you don't get it until you turn the mission in, and that damned woman won't LET me turn it in. It looks like the only thing I can do is destroy the gun she promised I could keep, as Torgue demands, but…then I won't HAVE the gun I was promised. I do not WANT Torgue's stupid Wombat; I do not WANT to turn the mission in to HIM; I want to turn it in to HER! Why does the HUD say I have a choice, but Janey refuses to ALLOW me to exercise the choice?

She says, "I'll give that laser one last tweak, and then you can keep it," but she refuses to take the gun.

I can't find any videos AT ALL where a player decides to keep the weapon and gets Janey to give it the promised tweak.

I just saved and quit and opened up the save file to examine it in Gibbed to verify my suspicions. The Disintegrating Zapper—or whatever the Hell it's called, close enough—does not show in inventory, and the Equipped section does not detail a weapon in slot two, which is where the weapon is. This means it's still classified as a mission item. You can't drop it, sell it, or edit it (you can't edit what you can't see).

Conclusion: There ISN'T any choice the player may make; the player must destroy the weapon he wants.

We need a mission that allows the players to choose to kill Torgue. I find him FAR more annoying than Claptrap. Actually, I find Torgue disturbing because he bears a striking resemblence to the American I-65 serial killer.

Yeah, and SO many of the shotguns are pathetic, too, so no damned surprise there. There are some exceptions like the Conference Calls and Sledge's Shotty.

If I remember correctly you have to put the item in Springs base in serenity wastes. I believe it’s on the bottom story. Then you get to turn back into her.

And the wombat is good for killing in NPCs. Fire it, go into your inventory before the bullets hit, drop the weapon, and then return to gameplay. If done correctly it will count as environmental damage.

I've been on a two-year hiatus playing other games, so I don't even remember this issue. I have found other weapons that are better at dealing damage.

Well IMO Hyperion and Jakobs Shotguns are king in both BL2 and BLTPS.
rest are indeed trash (There are some exceptions like Swordsplosion/Unicornsplosion and Jack O' Cannon)

I guess I missed something, the Jack O' Cannon—don't remember ever getting it. What I remember about Sledge's gun is that it had utter crap for accuracy, but KILLER damage, making it the perfect close-range firearm.

Its rare it dropped from a halloween event boss but it has a chance to appear as Item of the Day or as a Grinder crafting result.

Its basically a pumpkin grenade launcher pretty powerful.

Ech. I don't grind. You get utter crap for results. You get better stuff with keys.

Keys cant get you uniques, luneshines or legendaries.

Grinder can and grinding is pretty much cheap if you have a lot of backpack space.

I grind less useful gear i pick up from enemies/loot cases to later Grind it between missions. Some results were really sweet got even a Torrent SMG

You've had better luck than I did. I've never gotten useful stuff from grinding, not ever. I don't even bother anymore. I get better stuff elsewhere, by other means.

Its not perfect but its decent alternative way of trying to get better gear beside farming it.

I mean there is abundance useless guns that you can feed the Grinder and the process is fast :P so why not i like the idea of Grinder.
