STILL no bandits.

Once again, quests to hunt X number of bandit parties given by village or town notables are timing out because there are still no bandits to be found nearby. Why do they even want me to do this quest when there are no bandits?

Pretty sure my PC specs are irrelevant for this bug, but to play along ...

Since youve seen it happen so many times across several versions, does it happen only at this particular village?

Any village near the edges of the map it seems, or that are in out of the way places. Other places I've had this happen are Vesin, Garontor, Oristocorys, Kargrev, Marabrot, Kvol and Gaos. I have a theory that there were bandits in these places, and they have been killed by other parties or wandered out of range, but the village still has the quest because no other lords have resolved it. On the other hand, especially in Khuzait and Aserai lands, I've taken this quest and suddenly get around a dozen parties of steppe or desert bandits appear, so it seems to mainly affect areas with slow bandit parties. Since bandits tagged with the quest icon will be ignored by other nobles, I can only guess that the game is either not spawning them, or they're spawning in the wrong place. But that's only a guess.

Thats seems odd. Out of the way places is where bandits usually hang out.

At Oristocorys in particular it is possible to see what happens. The bandits do spawn, but they're on the other side of the mountains that can only be crossed north of Jalmarys. Because that is where the bandit hideout spawns in this area, it means that any bandits spawned there can't reach the mission area.

Well, from what I know, any random bandits that enter in range of the quest giver will get flagged for the quest, and will also lose that flag when they go too far away. Maybe devs can increase the range of that a bit. Im not sure where that village is.

EDIT: Found it. Im not sure how there could be an issue in that area. Unless there really is no chance for bandits to spawn in that area. I dont think ive ever been to that little corner of the map, ever. If you can, try making a video.

I think that quest bandits spawn around the nearest bandit base, and the only one in that area is on the other side of the mountains, so the only direction they can go is away from the village. If they try to go around Jalmarys to get to the village, they go out of range of the quest, lose the quest tag, and are then fair game for any of the nobles passing through the area.

Happened again, at Remental this time. Want another save file? There seems to be an issue with the northern vlandia peninsula. I found a load of random looters parties appeared around Pravend.
