PC crash on every 3-4 save (not an app crash)
After completing the tutorial, on every 3-4 save I face with PC crash. It doesn't look like a regular application crash. The display just becomes black and even the pc RESET button doesn't help. The PC just freezes and stops responding. Only manual power off works. Error logs say nothing.

Yes, it happens only in the moment of saving. When I click Save or trying to save in a new slot. Every 3-4 times. While I don't save, the game works fine. I didn't try saving on exit, for I don't want to exit every single time I need to save - it's better to fix the issue instead of avoiding it.

So, what the hell guys? No other game did anything like that to my PC before. There're a lot of modern games which I play without any issues. The games with much higher system requirements. My build is AMD Ryzen 9 5900, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3080, Windows 10. Should be sufficient for this game, shouldn't it?

The Defender history shows no detected threats.

Any idea what's going on?

Try the following if using Windows Defender;

Click on the defender icon, bottom right.

Select Virus and Threat protection

In the Ransomware Protection section (at bottom), click on Manage ransomware protection.

If Controlled Folder Access is set to ON:

click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access, click yes.

Here should be a list of recently blocked apps. Among them you should/may find;
TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe
Bannerlord.exe

If one or both are there;
Click on the option to Add an allowed app
select recently blocked apps
click the plus sign next to one, or both of the above files if they are there

It would not hurt to reboot/restart your computer after this.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help. The apps weren't blocked before. And even after adding them to allowed crashes hadn't gone. The only way to play without crashes I found is enabling auto save every 5 minutes. That's how I managed to play for 3 hours. And then I tried manual saves again. Probably on the 3rd or 4th save I got a crash :steamthumbsdown:

Anyway, thank your for the suggestions!

No mods except the default ones installed with the steam game itself.
Sure, I created a ticket: https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Ticket/Item/1195
Please, let me know, if you need any other info.

Hi, do you have any updates on this issue?
Thanks!

Could be that your CPU and/or GPU is overheating. This game can do that. You say you can play for a few hours at a time, which would suggest possible overheating. The other possibility is a weak power supply, but clearly thats not the problem. Put your hand over your PC box and feel how hot it is when the game is running. If it feels like its on fire, then yeah... GPU fans can die, make sure the cooling fans are running. Or maybe you have dust buildup, or it could be that your box just doesnt have adequete cooling.

I don't think so. I play different games with much higher requirements with max settings (AC Valhalla, RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077 and etc) and CPU/GPU loads when I start even hearing fans - and nothing like this happens.

Today I played just for 10 minutes or even less. When I made a manual save and after that an auto save happened, the screen became black again.

This game doesn't look like something heating.

Comparing games requirements doesnt mattter for over heating. Are you gonna check or not. Even if its not overheating, this looks like a hardware issue. Is your computer old?

My PC is 2 years old. My graphics card is 9 months old.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3080 ti

I checked temperatures. I'd say everything is "barely warm" :)

My first guess was hardware issue as well. But it's too weird that such good hardware work perfectly with more modern games on higher loads, and crashes with this one only in the moment of saving. Not in the moment of max size battles which I can play all day long without any lags. Only saving, always. Sometimes even after just 5 minutes of playing, I just need to make 3-4 savings before the crash.

I've got no clue what this game does with hardware (even blocking the RESET button) while saving with disabled defender and all granted access, but hope they'll find the root cause.

If you have an anti virus program, try disabling it and then try playing the game and saving and see if it still does that. Also, get the amd adrenaline program for your graphics if you havent yet, and try turning off all the advanced settings, like ray tracing etc.

No additional antivirus programs. Only Windows defender which I turn off every time before running the game, as it was suggested earlier. Real-time, cloud-delivered protection and every other setting of Windows security is turned off. But it doesn't help.
