Detailed Character Creation lets you modify any NPC in the game.
I think Character Reload might, but I'm not sure.
That is a omen to how your children end up. The "Asmonbald" look -)
For anyone searching for the same question one day:

So I am, quite particular, but I will tell you that there are many things I pay attention to during the character creation.
Once I customize my own character, I always do CTRL-C and save those settings to notepad.
Then once I switch to family (where you pick your parents' profession) I take a look and if I don't like the way they look I go back, make a small change (switch my skin color one shade for example) and try again until I like their look. It is important as your other family members and kids will inherit at least some elements of the look of your parents.
Then i do the same once I see my horse. If I don't like horse color, I go back to the beginning (And I mean to the main menu) and start over, CTR-V my customization, check the parents, get back to the horse etc... (Thing with the horse is that all your future horses will have the same color, except those that are locked to certain color/model, like Steppe Horses).
Then there is part where your brother appears. If I don't like him I may go back. (Since at this point I like the horse, I just need to go to the screen before my parents. Then I go through the process until he looks the part.
But wait... there is more. Sometimes when I finish character customization and the tutorial loads, I see my brother and he is way shorter than I would like him to be.
Then going back to main menu...
Now once older brother is ok, there is one more final check. I pull up my character card and check my younger siblings under family. If they look good, then awesome, if not, back to main menu we go.
Now I know I am quite particular, but if I am planning a playthrough that will take few hundred hours where I want to get to great-grand children and beyond, then yes, going through character creator until everything is the way I want works for me.
So yes, you kind of can do it, but a very frustrating way and not directly, but you can at least eliminate some annoying features. The looks will get passed down on your and your family members' children, so if you care about those things, this is how you can (kind of) make it happen.

this one is prone to less crashing the game , however its gota be mentioned anything that uses 'harmony' WILL crash the game one way or another be warned !
Dcc sometimes interferes with custom skins if you use any mods that alters that, even though it says in the description...lol.
