Bannerlord: The Quest for Hard Wood
Now that I've turned my eyes to the drip game, exploiting the crafting system is my main quest. I didn't realize the challenge behind finding hard wood in Calradia... that's all, just a sh#@ post.

Editing for future googlers: buying hardwood is for chumps. Buy every single wooden hammer and pitchfork you can find (and wood of course), smelt all that down for wood. And stop refining ore and crude... just buy stacks of cheap throwing knives and smelt those down too. Total cost to get an inventory going should be around 20-30k? And with minimal time investment your sales will very quickly outpace your costs 10x, 20x, etc.

Step 3: Smelt 1 Hammer for 3 Hardwood.
Step 4: Repeat until you get 25 Smithing skill for Efficient Charcoal Maker.
Step 5: Refine 2 Hardwood into 3 Charcoal.
Sell excess charcoal to buy more hammers and keep going until you have enough wood.

Battania have wood for ages -)
There are 5 villages around that crater lake in Battania that has wood although one of them is east of Seonon.

By the way. If you are at war with any faction that has wood villages, make the villagers give you resources, then raid them. Extra free wood or whichever resource you want.

So there are infinite hammers to buy? I find the best place to smith is Seonon town. It gets 3 villages delivering hardwood. Unless wars change it.

For all intents and purposes, yes. They will restock before you go through all of the towns and buy them up.

I dont agree with this. I have used that method to obtain wood before and they do not replenish as quickly as you claim. I suspect you are using a mod that changes this, because there is no way that enough wood weapons can replenish as quickly as one would practice smithing as your only source of wood, that is ridiculous. When I practice smithing I use hundreds of charcoal each day.

Places in Battania you can buy wood from villages at like 10pu (sometimes even less at times).

You'll be fine if you don't waste the wood on smelting down every piece of garbage weaponry you find.

Very early you kinda have to, but later on it's just not worth the effort. You're better of focussing on quality weapons and for those you simply smelt down the 2 or 3 types of daggers that produce steel and fine steel. Ignore all the low tier iron trash once you skilled past that point.

And just like that I'm back in business! Also found that pitchforks give 3 wood too :)

The way you guys talk sounds like you probably dont realize yet that your whole clan can use the smithy...

Just go ride around the lake and then over to Epicrotia. Wood is cheap and plentiful in that area.

I do a tour like that about once a year. Nowhere else is there such a nice collection of wood villages and towns.

Anything else is working, too hard, although if I happen to pass by a wood village in my travels, I do stock up if the price is good.

No mods, and there's like 50+ towns in the game. There's zero possibility you can run every town out of hammers and pitchforks unless you are using mods to eliminate stamina use, even if you have 20 clan members smithing at the same time.
