How to have party follow to take castle as independent?
Im trying to fulfill the take a settlement quest to start and independent faction. Well...I have parties that have 60+ guys and it would really help me take these castles.......

I know of the flag on the bottom right but I cant use it. How am I supposed to take a castle alone?

You cannot form armies until you are a kingdom, the first castle you must take as a sole party. It's doable, After you take one and hand in the quest it will reset the aggro and everything will be at peace, just choose a castle that's weaker, out of the way, or wait until another lord sieges and fails and you will be able to walk in after him.

Yes, after you turn in this quest any wars you started trying to get the castle are clicked back to peace, it reset to peace with everyone, It's pretty pathetic the game has to do this because a main quest makes you start a war, Especially because the places it tells you to take contradict with what you want to do.

For example you want to be a non-imperial vassel or kingdom? you have to take a non imperial castle, so start a fight not with the empire?, and vice versa if you want to side with the empire, take one of their castles first. I think they messed this up quite badly.

Well enemy castles tend to be filled with recruits and militia, both of which suck. If you upgrade all your soldiers to high tier, they should have no trouble killing the recruits and militia. I've tried this with imperials which tend to have good armor. I have no experience with troops from other factions.
You can just steal a town or castle that has been recently taken. It will take a while for the militia and garrison to fill up. Just make sure you can defend it against the army that just took it.

You could join a faction and wait till you are awarded a settlement then just leave. Your relations will drop with said faction. Just make sure to click keep holdings.

Being able to form an army with your companion parties should be implemented before kingdom tab becomes available. Kingdom tab should then enable making armies of other clans.

I didnt see the option to keep holdings. Ah well, I captured a super weakened one and just paid for peace cause I couldnt even make it to the quest giver without mesui taking ♥♥♥♥ behind my back
