welp this game is dead

why is it when i finally get into something i have been wanting to play its either abandoned by the devs or just long since forgotten. its only like what? a year old?

Mount and blade has, and always will be primarily about the single player, with multiplayer as a side activity at best. If you came here for the multiplayer, you've made a mistake. Refund and go get Mordhau or Chivalry or something.

As for being abandoned, the game just released a major update 3 days ago. That's pretty far from abandoned.

those games dont really play the same. similar combat maybe. but mordhau is dead as hell and chiv is just stupidly stiff and slow combat to a unrealistic degree

i dont know about multiplayer that much but i think the majority of multiplayer players are playing on modded custom servers.

there also are guilds that do battles with a few hundred players, at least as far as i can tell from youtube videos, though those videos pretty much always show that they use mods so those are not on official servers either.

last i heard everyone is playing persistent empires or something. clan battles as well. just how it was done in Warband.

Not even close to dead. 20,000 players 24 hours ago just on steam alone, not counting xbox gamepass or Console or GOG. Major update just released today with new battlegrounds and 15 other things added read the patch notes.
