Same procedure as every year James;)
Story mode has gotten a bad reputation because of all the bugs compared to the Sandbox mode.
I only played Story mode once for a few hours until I got so fed up with it I asked myself why I didn't start sandbox mode.
If you want a family there is a mod for that... In fact, there are so many great mods that I don't know why someone would go through all the trouble playing Story mode.
No mods = both are okay.
Mods = better experience in sandbox.
Also, Ironman > Normal. Save scumming is the path of weakness. :)
You make your own difficulty.
There is no more freedom on sandbox because you can play campaign, ignore that fubar main quest, and then do what you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well please, just like in sandbox.
The cool kids know this, so they play campaign, rescue their siblings, then ignore Neretzes' Folly and let that main quest expire.
That banner is a piece of crap and next to useless, and you do not need it or the main quest to form your own kingdom when you are ready.
You too can be a cool kid. Just let that main quest die an uneventful death and then play on.
I do plenty of games where I go from the perspective of a soldier, so I'm not recruiting my own troops.
I agree the AI is pretty easy to beat, especially when you've got the advantage of numbers. That's just boring though. If everything is boring, no point in playing. :)
There are plenty of games out there where I would not play the game on the hardest difficulty.
Bannerlord just happens to be one those games where the difficulty (slider) doesnt really matter:)
story mode with age and deaths off
Just like some of us will go for the campaign for the brother and his potential spouse.
