its shallow and boring. No challenge, no immersion, same thing all the time.

Honestly iv never tried mods cuz whats the point? updates break them. but i cant imagine a mod that can fix this game.

Is Skyrim and Fallout 4 good without any mods?
Sure, but mods vastly improve the experience and you can cherry pick what feature you want to add.
You can play and have fun with the unmodded game as long as this kind of game appeals to you, but if you've played it for a while and check what mods are available, you'll realize just how much the game has been improved by modmakers.

Personally I never played any mount and blade with mods. I like so much the game vanilla as is. Especially Bannerlord. Of course mod can add some flavor depending on your taste, for me it's just extras.

Its great even without mods.
mods make it spicy but some like it vanilla

but mods need you to maintain them otherwise, good luck having crashes lol

Yes it is. Its a good game, doesnt need mods, but it does still have plenty of bugs, which the devs are still actively working to fix. They also are still adding new content, and to my knowledge, have never said they would ever stop.

Ignore the haters. They are just butthurt because updates break their mods.

The game is perfectly playable without mods. Lots of people play without mods all the time.

There is, however, a subset of the player population who think that mods are necessary to enjoy the game. They will install mods, but only a subset of that segment of the player population actually knows what they are doing.

The rest will be back here after the next update whining about how the update broke their mods.

So . . . Buy it and play it and then decide for yourself which segment of the population you want to be in. You want mods, then go for it.

But remember -- You give up your right to a working game the minute you shove in a mod.

far more than 1k hours. 99% of this time with no mods at all.
game is unique, do not know any other game similar to it.

IMO - There is nothing in terms of gameplay that this game must have delivered by a "mod." It is full-featured and has fairly "complete" mechanics. (Be advised - The current Beta version has some deep changes/additions/fixes on the way to public release.) Early to mid game is good and after that it's really dependent on what the player is willing to do/accept to continue playing.)

IMO - No mod is going to solve or provide solutions for many quality of play issues this game has. (Most players may not be as specific as I get... But, I think many "feel" similar about certain features.) IF you like the vanilla game. you may like to add some mods to target some features. If you don't like it because it doesn't have your "favorite thing in a game" and a mod provides that, then that may make you happy. But, if you don't like vanilla Bannerlord's "late-to-end" game gameplay/grind/repetitiveness some lack of depth in non-combat features... I don't think any mod out there has yet attempted to tackle that unless it's a "Full Conversion" mod. At that point, your question would be kind of moot. :)

I never understood how people could play hundreds of hours of Warband but bad talk Bannerlord and what you can do in the game.

At any rate, M&B titles are unique and fun in their own ways and Bannerlord is no different. If you are new to them, they are worth a try. If you played Warband, chances are you will like Bannerlord.

Some entitled people will likely convince you otherwise and that's your choice to listen or not. I personally enjoy the game for the M&B game that it is, I like the new features it added, I like the graphics and combat. It's a fun game too me.

OP, I think the game would be ok. But I have to admit, mods help make the game more alive and fun. We all have our own tastes in game features. A dev team can't please us all. The wonderful mod creators simply give us our own unique game style.

Beta 1.2 is alot better than previous release. more features. Early game is good but as you progress, late game is bland and boring. It needs things like Diplomacy etc.

Not sure who will create end game features, Devs or Modders ??

it's alright by itself, but the mods definitely add some spice and fill it out in places where it sorely lacks (Diplomacy is a good example of this), or it builds upon what's already there.
I run mods. A lot of them. But they're far from needed. Some are complete overhauls and some "fix" aspects of the game others don't like. For example, many consider Diplomacy a must-have because of all of the stuff it adds to the diplomatic side of the game. Others think it's fine without it.

In the end, it will be up to you to decide if it's any good without them. The meat and potatoes of the game (combat) is relative unchanged by mods, aside from some stuff like decapitation mods or allowing spears to pierce multiple targets.

I just got it without much knowledge ahead of time (not the smartest use of my money, but oh well). Anyways--the first thing i was struck by was that it's not really open world like skyrim. it's open world sort of--its open world like dragon age origins (with an overlay map for travel) except you control movement going from one place to another.
I've played the game for about an hour now and I'm already downloading a mod to make it open world if that answers your question at all. (the mod im getting is persistent empires, hopefull it's awesome)
