Bow vs Crossbow which is better?
I mostly used the bow because i could have a faster fire rate with it, and when i used crossbow and found out you still need to ark your shot and that it doesn't always one shot i use the bow instead, but i haven't used the crossbow a lot so i don't know if its actually goated, so what do you guys think?

I played a complete game not too long ago as a crossbow user. I normally use a bow. It was brutal. From the slow reload to the small bolt quantities. Even with max perks the bow is better.

When you also consider about 100% of all battles will have many bow users in them allowing you to scavenge arrows if needed. Not all battles will have crossbow users or at least enough to replenish your and your troops ammo.

Then there is the perks. You can either have bow or crossbow perks trying the get both can wind up limiting you when leading troops. Overall the bow is the best choice in my opinion.

I agree. Crossbow's supposed to be for anti armor but, because theres arrows everywhere and fewer crossbows, it's more ammo efficient to use bow. if they had fast firing one hand crossbows, like they have pistols in With Fire and Sword, It would be more useful for field battles as a cav rider imo. If they increase the crossbow range to make them "snipers" then it'd make sense to add more crossbow units to the army.

Bow, especially once you get archery high enough that you can use noble longbow on horseback its GG

General basics of both catagories_

Bows_
- Faster firerate (more theoretical DPS)
- More ammunition
- Faster movement speed overall
- More bows able to be used on horseback

xbows_
- More armor penetration (meaning more damage per shot)
- Longer range
- Longer lasting firerate (good for defensive sieges)
- Most xbow troops are more well armored

There are a few exceptions, but that's the gist of it.

I think the crossbow deserve a buff, maybe a buff to arrow velocity so you dont have to guess where the arc it at far ranges and have some powerful crossbows penetrate multiple people without armor with one shot.

"Nerf paper, scissor is fine" - Rock

Buff projectile speed and nerf projectile speedbonus to keep the damage unchanged

this gonna sound stupid but, what if you could use a crossbow as a shield with a one handed weapon, like make it an athletics perk and you can have a sword in one hand and a crossbow in the other as a shield against sword and arrows if your lucky and as a long range weapon.

I just used crossbow for the 250 perk who give -25% wages for tier 4 or more ranged units.
Who are valuable with the max steward perk.
