Attempting To Increase Battle Size: Need Help!
I'm trying to push the battle size beyond it's highest limit of 1000.

I've tried to use the config, but it only seems to accept values of 0-6. I figured out that each of these integers is tied to the menu options.

Example: BattleSize=6 in the config menu equals the menu option Max (1000).

I've seen multiple sources online that have stated I can set the value to a maximum of 2048, stating that the engine cannot handle more than that number of entities on the field at once. In attempting to put that number, or any other numbers aside from 0-6 for that matter, the config defaults to BattleSize=2 despite my saving the higher integers saving the number.

For example: I type in BattleSize=2048. I load the game up. Use a custom battle, maximize the sizes of the armies. Have an army of about 200 soldiers on the field. Close out, check the config, BattleSize=2.

I've also seen multiple comments on the internet that you don't need mods to push the battle size higher but I'm unsure if this is true. I've seen videos of people who have increased their battle sizes beyond the scope of 1000 entities. Some don't have links to their mods in video descriptions, others link to defunct mods.

Mods wouldn't help me anyway because I'm mostly computer illiterate and have tried all the options I think are available to me.

Please help me. This is driving me insane and what some people have said is extremely simple seems to escape me.

With the hardcap of the unit possible in the engine and mounted units count as 2 actors. Pushing for such large battles might just as well push for game to crash -)

don't touch it esp if you are computer illiterate

That's a risk I'm willing to take. I don't like that I can't do the kinds of pushes I want to in large battles because all my soldiers are waiting to spawn.

in sieges everybody can clearly see that max 1000 unit size is much to big.

the walls, towns , castles, everything is not made for 1000 units or more.

Thanks for your comment but I want larger battles even with the sieges as they are.

The problem with sieges isn't really the number of troops, but rather that the tactical AI doesn't know how to space them all out where they are needed.

IE, it crams tons of them on the walls, but neglects putting melee units behind the main gate areas and such.

Okay, but how do I get more soldiers on the field? I've attempted everything that I've seen on these discussion boards and I can't get the number of soldiers to go up beyond a total of 1000.

if you wana edit the battle size yourself, you are going to need dnSpy and some really free time to dig into the code
