A curse or a blessing ?
Is there a trick to having male heirs.... it seems I can only have girls. 5 kids and they are all Ladies. Or is my RNG just coming up all girls this play through?

Any clan member can be made the heir to take over. Your brothers children etc.
You could always save scum before birth...

Yes, there is. Baby's sex is determined at birth. Take a save the day before the due date and reload if you don't get what you want.

Still births, mother's death in childbirth, and twins are also determined at birth.

So you can have do-overs if you want.

'But how do you determine due date?' I hear you ask.

Easy. Gestation period is one season plus 15 days,or 36 days.

You can look up the date of conception in the encyclopedia.

Cheesy? A little. But no more cheesy than exploiting battle loot for denars or installing a mod to enable achievements if you have mods.

But little girls won't get you more babies because when they marry, they leave.

In my current campaign. Between my main char, and the 2 brothers, there is 17 children... There will always be more children -)

If you get a surplus of females you don't know what to do with you can marry them to other clans in your kingdom. They still make babies that might be useful down the line...

No more or less cheese than save scumming, there is a mod that allows you to find spouses (spice?) for anyone in your clan.

That includes family members, companions, male, female, yourself. Even better, it gives you the choice (except for yourself) as to whether the married couple stays in your clan or goes to the other person's clan.
if you choose your clan, you pay a dowry which depends on the "value" of the person you are getting, and I think it increases a bit if you are bucking tradition and bringing a male into your clan.
If you work the system to maximize reproduction, your clan can become IMMENSE.

Doesn't change number of war parties you can have, but you can have more governors than you can shake a stick at, and if you need to you can make a hell of a lot of companions into lords if you are having issues recruiting other clans into your kingdom.

Will it let me marry Rancid Gerta?

Honestly, I think it's a possibility. It gives a list of "suitable" nobles you can marry, and it also gives you an option of marrying a "lesser noble" or a random commoner. I don't know if that includes notables or not.

Women go to different clans if they marry. How would their children be useful to you if they're not in your clan?

If relations had a real impact on your interactions with other clans, it would actually be useful like political/alliance marriages were historically.

Watching clans in my kingdom that have male members that never marry...... is not good for the kingdom right? So hook them up, get more babies made for YOUR KINGDOM....
Once you start a kingdom it's not just about your clan anylonger it's about your kingdom.

Well, it seems that the mod is bugged, as well as not having been updated since 1.0.0 as polygamy is rampant in its use. I had one of companions marry Svana, and next time i went to arrange a marriage Svana was eligible for a new spouse. Because I am a curious sort, and morally flexible, I had her marry some imperial noble. Once he arrived, HE was eligible so I hooked him up with some random Khuzait chippie.

Chain polygamy.

In the interests of science (I've only gone that far as yet) I FULLY intend to see if I can marry EVERY SINGLE ELIGIBLE BACHELOR(ette) IN CALRADIA INTO MY CLAN.

Blessing if you run your own kingdom. Girls are amazing. Your heir can be a girl just fine and having full authorship of their training schedule and partner choice means you'll be able to groom future governesses for your kingdom if you marry them to future vassal prospects.

Having rich and powerful vassals that can hold territory is just as important as enriching your own clan.

I had 6 sons on my last playthru, it was good, although it would be a nightmare to have that many sons in crusader kings, but I guess in bannerlord more sons never hurts.

Crusader Kings can really throw a monkey wrench into your game plan for heirs. Did groom a heir that had aswesome stats. Then all his siblings, and him in the end ended up dead under mysterious circumstances... Except one.... a evil scheming one. Short after my ruler ended up dead, and I was blessed a short rule of the now also depressed and drunkard evil one that ended up off himself...
