Polearm vs 2 handed axes?
Just curious which is better? I know most polearms just allow you to thrust but there are some heads that allow you to slash as well.

2 handed axe for being on foot 100% Great for sieges.

You are mistaken on the polearms; they have swing action. The best (without smithing) polearm in the game, the Rhomphalia, is a swing based polearm. Polearms are all good for being mounted, having lotsa reach. Some give you couch stance as well, letting you just lance the hell out of people.

basically axes are better if you are on foot and polearms usually on horseback for the extra reach, the reason polearms are not that great (still good) on foot even tho they also one hit always like axes do, is that with that long range also comes a longer swing time, meaning your enemies will block you more and you will get less attacks out anyways.

on top of that comes the multi hit for axes and thats just very freaking strong.

Guess it depends if you want to be a swingy boi or a thrusty boi. Thrusty and couchable polarms are probably safe on mounts, I'm a swingy boi so I prefer axes. The swingable polarms are longer and safer but slower, I've taken to making a 2handed bardiche (executioner style axe) in game with a length of about 124. Can use it on mounts up close or in drivebys, can cleave multiple heads off infantry on mounts and still is viable on foot in sieges. I prefer this over a polearm, since I'd have to give up a quiver of arrows for a short weapon.
The ai companions seem to do very well with Glaives and Rhomphalias, though. Since they preswing the slower swing doesn't hurt them as much.

Voulge head with the 80 swing speed handle and swing speed perks. You can cleave through both shields and people and fairly high speeds regardless of the situation. Most will die in 1 hit.

2 handed axes are godly unless your swings blocked or restricted by anything its a 1 hit guarantee with a good one and you might even get 2 in a swing. i havent used polearms but i assume their about the same except for spears. i find spears unusable in this unless your on horse back. If anyone here is good with spears you're probably the best player by far.

Axes cleave through multiple opponents if nothing blocks them. Do polearms do that?

No.

All weapons have their use and there are situation where polarms are the best, but two handed axes are the best melee weapons overall. Charging on your horse through the lines while cleaving through multiple targets at once is quite the experience. I usually get at least 50 kills per battle, sometimes over a 100.

The line between what is an axe and a polearm might get really blurry sometimes (aren't two handed axes technically polarms?). No use arguing with video game logic though.

Well, they are real world weapons. What makes a polearm a polearm and not an axe? A pole. Seriously. Length is the main defining factor, and the head a bit less so. Very easy to give a peasant a long stick and say: "Poke that dude from 12 feet away!". Giving them an axe a bit less so.

Playing on Bannerlord difficulty with all deaths enabled, I think shield and spear is the best combination possible. You can handle any situation and positively contribute to fights while still retaining a high margin of safety.
2H axes are not BAD by any stretch, I just find the risk vs reward to not tip in my favor in too many situations.

Well, there is getting 20 kills a battle with spear+shield, and theres getting 100+ with other weapons. Depends what you want out of a battle tbh.

If you're only getting 20 kills with a spear, you have no idea how to use them. Spears are the only other weapon besides swingable polearms and 2H axes that can give consistent one hit kills on virtually any target.

Context;

PvE? or PvP?

Some weapons are trash in PvE but God Tier in PvP and vise versa.

polarm if you hate horse, two handed axe if you hate shield

As a cavalry rider, I use the voulge for scattered formations, and the axe for tight formations.

The voulge works when I'm hitting other horse formations, because I can reach them, and often, kill someone on my blind side, simply because they don't see it coming.

The axe goes to work against the infantry crush when the lines finally make contact. I come in from behind the enemy line, and work their backfield. Does wonders for generating morale breaks with double kills.
