Parties needing to rest
This just occurred to me as I was chasing a party of looters across the map for 4 in game days straight. I think parties should have to rest after a period of time, I know that it is a game but who is running for 5 days straight with no rest?

Be careful what you wish for on this one. That absolutely makes sense for realism, but it would for sure make the game slower/less fun. Already is a bit of a pain traveling from one end of the map without waiting to rest. Besides the way our characters physically perform in battle is already super human. You trying swinging a two handed weapon around 100+ times at full force into armored men. Would have to make your character/party get tired from everything if we go down that route.

Since there is no camping, party rest is assumed.

Except when you want stamina to smith. *throws up hands"

Here's a thought -- Why don't you just travel during daylight hours and then stop and wait when it gets dark. Then you can start out again in the morning. You would have to discipline yourself to stay and wait when the sun goes down, and you might be subject to attack while waiting, but that's part of the scenario.

I have a little thing I like to call my 'imagination' that I use to fill in the gaps when the game doesn't spell it out for me. I like to call it 'pretending'. It would work well in this situation.

You should try it.

This is such a great idea, OP should do this since he seems to be a realist

Any immersion mechanics would be welcomed at this point given how bare bones the game is.

a pain mechanic is not a immersion mechanic

This sounds awful and if they ever implemented I would have to mod it out or need it to be toggle-able.

Oooh, a pain mechanic. Every time your character gets hit your computer hits you with a few volts!

Warband had Camp. Could talk to companions and read books... This game is nowhere near ready. It needs at least another 2 years in EA.

Woah, forgot about that.

That's kind of exactly what I mean. "Immersion mechanics." Just stuff to make the game, and your character and army, feel 'alive.'

Right now, Bannerlord has none of that.

Yeah, in which there were no penalties for not doing so, and if you didn't read books there was literally no reason to do it to begin with.

Sure, lets just camp for about 0.1 seconds to talk to a companion, then get moving again. Real immersive.

I always figured sleeping was abstracted into moving more slowly at night. You don't cover as much distance because, at some point, you and your men have to bed down and catch forty winks.

A fatigue mechanic might still add something, though. A simple meter that goes down as you march and fight, slowing your movement and damaging stamina as it drains. Recover/maintain it by resting in town, camping, and having decent food. Wanna kill a superior party? Lead them a merry chase to expend their fatigue while yours is preserved by perks, spare horses, and good food variety. Also might make a good limiting factor in siege warfare, with outnumbered engineers tiring out as they try to keep up.

Naturally, it would be an optional feature.

But the current 'system' is nothing, as in "literally nothing."

There are no 'features' to play with, the game is totally bare bones. Yes, the battles are fun, I'm not disputing that, but the campaign is painfully shallow.

There was a mod to fix this issue,I was using it and it worked really well.
Shambeh-Bambeh 23 JUL 2022 a las 1:35 a. m.
In Viking Conquest there is an option you can turn on where you have to rest your party/army by making a camp. If you go without resting once everyday, your parties morale will be lowered and i think it also lowers their stats but i can't remember if it also does that.
