Increased height cap?
Is it possible to increase my characters height cap beyond the normal, specifically for my character for inner singleplayer RP reasons?

I've read around that you may need to create a seperate gender for the PC and edit like that but i'm not sure where to begin there, and there is no mods that would do this anyway. I've seen people create giants in their mods but still not experienced in modding enough to know how it was done.

Any advice etc would be appreciated. :)

I wonder if you can do it threw the console

I don't know how to do that, but I will just point out that more height = bigger hitbox

^-- This. Which is why it's cheesy to pick short/small characters in multiplayer combat games. :)

"Scaling up" a character should be possible, but maybe needing a custom set of limits a "new race" character might be able to provide. BUT... combat animations and hit scoring/etc might be troublesome to manage to get right if the character's height ends up making everything go out-of-bounds, so to speak. (Giants? I'd be interested to see what a modder did with that if they can engage in combat.)

Dude... even if you put your height at max in the character creator as it is. You become a giant in size compared to majority of the npc's in the game. Also you become a much bigger (and easier) target to hit.

I'm in favor of shorter, fatter, uglier character potential... I just want to roleplay the shortest, fattest, ugliest, bearderiest, Sturgian that is possible, with the meanest, dumbest, most quarrelsome disposition I can roleplay and armed with the biggest, nastiest, polearm imaginable... Why? 'Cause I wanna, that's why.

I want to roleplay a ugly fire hydrant armed with a huge weed-whacker... "SPIN TO WIN!"

I'd suggest larger characters have slightly more base HP to make up for this, otherwise there's no reason to not make every character a dwarf.

This was a problem around the time a bug changed half the troops in Babylord into toddlers.

At that size, combat AI would never hit them with any strike, despite the scaling in place. It's just not good beyond current boundary conditions, which is rather weird for a "game made for mods," but meh...

It is weird, but understandable given TW's focus on physical, modeled, combat. Though, Bannerlord's model is actually simpler than Warband's. (Go figure)

TW's stance on no customized rigging for combat-capable units pretty much nailed the door shut on a lot of things. Warband had similar issues, of course. Scaling issues didn't seem so troublesome if within reasonable bounds. (A good many "very large" combatants in some mods used ranged attacks, though. Some used charge values, IIRC.) Solving that problem to enable effective custom animations and rigging might take a major overhaul beyond the barrier of the .exe. And, it may put a big extra load on performance issues with extra animation sequences loaded for "out of bounds" units. A normal height soldier doesn't have to "stoop" to hit a target, like a real "giant" would. (AFAIK, combat animation sequences can have animations replaced, but can't have additional ones added. I think... )

Babylords were a sign of character generation mods borking up, IIRC. y/n/m?

I mean, there is some mods with giants out there i believe, like the game of thrones mod? I've not used the mod so i cant say for sure how 'giant' they really are, and i believe a while ago i saw a Jotun mod somewhere, and they were scaled up to size too. I mean, when i want to make my character giant, not excessively big, but just notably bigger, understand the drawbacks of bigger hitboxes etc, but its just my own personal little singleplayer rp session lmao.

One of the Warband overhaul mods had giants.
Not GIANT giants, but oversized for sure. The biggest issue I had with playing them was that the "over the shoulder" camera was more like "in the helmet of". So, archery was very difficult. Interior scenes had your vision in the ceiling at times.
Also, giants turned into pin cushions when the enemy had archers.

I still liked it for rp reasons, and because it made the typical "horse archer= army killer" dynamic at least more challenging than typical playthroughs.

No...because being taller also comes with advantages. Most of your melee attacks will naturally be at head height, being able to shoot or throw over teammates more easily, and enemies more likely to not melee your head or neck.

Yes, because apparently some people don't know how to aim their melee attacks a bit higher than usual :steamfacepalm:

You could probably just edit your single player save. Its probably a simple numerical height value.
