Is the game worth buying?
Hey, I've heard some good stuff about this game, is this game worth buying in its current state? I've watched some youtube videos of the game, and I gotta say, it's not really impressing me very much, so far. The graphics is unbelievably bad, it literally looks like the game came out in 2008, and the gameplay and animations and pretty much everything, looks very D- grade to me, honestly. The art work is pretty nice, though, but that's pretty much it. This seems very much like a cult-game to me, like warbands supposedly was. I'm not really a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥, but graphics does matter to me, and I refuse to play a brand new game in the year 2021, if the graphics looks like it's from 2007 or something. There's budget, and then there's BUDGET. Also, the game costs way too much. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ looking game like this shouldn't cost more than 10 bucks, honestly, it's just not worth more. So, will the graphics and the animations and the horse physics and... well, everything else, really, improve when the game finally exits early beta, or do the devs consider that good enough, or?

My opinion, yes. But I'm a huge fan of M&B as a whole. If graphics are all you care about, then perhaps you should avoid looking at Indie games? They tend to have sub-par graphics as a whole than AAA games.

The game has much better graphics than most. Maybe you are referring to the fact that it doesn't have immense contrast like valorant, overwatch, pubg or etc? The game doesn't provide the skeletal structure for animations that make the game look wiggly enough? Except it does. This is not Sekiro, armor has weight, sword size affects the swing, its clashing won't emit light, people don't bend like ninjas while moving, dramatized movie martial arts has no place, armor has no magic glisten and eyes can't be seen from batman helmet.
This is beside the fact that there is immense improvement over warband, where we had mushroom heads with the bottom of throat clipping out from the chest.
TBF a game is a no-go for me if it's not realistic, plus good - graphics wise. And bannerlord, while presenting a lot of issues so far, does not remotely have visuals as any of those issues.

As a response for the F grade original post... None could put it better than:

If you want an open sandbox RPG where you can command an empire and armies while still controlling your character on the battlefield, then Bannerlords is worth the cost of a night at a cheap bar. If you want stunning art, then you might better enjoy an art museum.

Hmmm since you are a fan of M&B, care to tell what part of bannerlord is lacking in graphics?
Because I think it really looks great and my sarcasm builds up when people state that it does in a criticizing manner and I need a sincere point of view.

I have to be honest - just don`t buy this game mate! This is a really great game but it isn`t the right game for someone like you! And I mean this in the most negative way you can understand this ^^ - Just run a benchmark - because when gameplay means nothing and graphics means all to you this should be the perfect choice for you!

If you're playing games for graphics then you're doing it wrong.

Damn, this post sort of blew up. To the people calling this bait, I'm not a fisherman, so make of that which you will. To everyone else, I own mount and blade warband and I thought it was kind of meh, that's why I'm asking about this game since I wanted to see, if the devs had managed to make the mount and blade formula more interesting. As I said, I'm not a grpahics hoe, but graphics matter to me, still. Just like there's a cut-off point with graphics, where no amount of graphics can save a game that sucks, no amount of amazing gameplay can save a game that's severely lacking in the looks department. There needs to be a sort of balance between the two, for a game to be as good as it possibly can be. I see this game currently going for 50 euro's and it's still in early access, so obviously, I want the game to be good, if I'm basically going to pay full price for a glorified alpha. I don't know how steam works for you guys, but unfortunately in this world, 50 dollars don't equal 50 euro's. That just ain't how it works.

If you call the graphics bad this isn't a game for you.

Game industry has clearly shown they can't make both good gameplay and good graphics, especially in a game that crams a thousand soldiers into a single battlefield: not sure what you expect.

Mind giving an example of what you consider good graphics that could be realistically applied in a game of this scale, without looking like a troll?

Your serious? Its rare to hear someone complain as though they have buyers remorse while asking if they should buy the game they don't like.

Welp, my answer to you is nope.

Myself, I'm happy i bought it to support them, looking forward to it down the road.

Good luck have fun.

The total war series comes to mind, initially. Sorry, but I still think the game looks like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No buy.

Solo? Yes.

Multiplayer? Hell no.

Graphics are OK. Let's say it does it's job without being AAA-class.

Well to me its an absolutely great game but I wouldn't jump full steam ahead into SP just yet since save games can get corrupted with updates or full release and I do believe they certainly will get corrupted at some point. When it comes to games in general its all about personal taste I guess. I also care a lot about graphics and they are very important to me but what it ultimately comes down to it gameplay. Do you have any other game out there you believe you would enjoy more at the moment, If so go for it and wait for full release of this game if you are uncertain, if you are certain you would like this game then you are free to jump right in

If you though warband was meh , even with its 100's of awesome mods then you will not like bannerlord.
