Caravan city locations

So I was recently told that caravans profit margins depend on the city that they were initially formed in as they act as a main hub where most of the items they buy are sold. Is there any way to tell which city you started the caravan in? Before I thought that it didn't matter so as soon as I had 15000 I just started on in the closest city, now im told "border towns" like oc's hall and charas are the best for this.

You might be able to disband the caravan and remake it. I don't know what your cash supply is. That might be too expensive to do right now. But that's the best way to make sure. However, the question is does your caravan make a satisfactory amount of profit already?

Its been about 50 days since I formed one of them and their not even breaking even in profit, the other one is doing well at 500-800 in flux, the difference is that the one that is doing well I started in Oc's hall a supposed "border town" and the other I did in one of the centeral empire cities.

Now I don't know for sure about how the starting town effects the caravan but something is causing my first caravan to suck, it even has the new companion that has high trade skill and even says that she is good in leading a caravan in dialogue.

I found that if I could have a companion with high trade 120 i think his skill was. He made around 800 a day while everyone else made around 100-200

Well its the opposite with mine, her skill is only 80 but the other guy is a combat spec'd companion and he's doing 5x better.
