AI sieges never actually happen
The AI just keeps building catapults which are instantly destroyed by the castle armaments. Eventually the siege camp runs out of food and starts bleeding units. After their army reduces by 100 or so they call off the siege. They NEVER actually attack. This is on the best AI setting.

How many sieges have you done? I have not had a problem with the AI doing a siege.

I've defended about 5 sieges and the AI just gets stuck in a loop of building catapults. Like 10+ which are all instantly destroyed. But it keeps building them until it's army runs out of food or money and disintegrates.

I`ve just had a siege where the AI attacked and took our castle quite well.

Do you have a mod interfering maybe?

They might of ran out of cohesion, do you know if they had to travel far to get to you? If the army runs out of cohesion, which declines faster if the army is larger, it disbands automatically. It drops each day so if it takes a few days to reach you...

Im seriously jealous. They NEVER siege me, unless im somewhere else. I have had armies of up to 2000 in single or broken up into 2 to 3 stacks sit outside my walls before leaving after a few minutes.

My 200-300 elite to semi-elite force just seems to scare the crap out of everyone regardless of just how VASTLY outnumbered i am. When it comes to sieges. No mods.

For me it seems the AI almost never builds catapults. Mostly just the battering ram and then they launch the attack. At least in the armies I've been in led by the AI.

I've seen it go both ways, I think it depends on how much of an advantage the attacker has number wise.

If they don't have a good number advantage, they sometimes build a siege engine, it's gets destroyed, they rebuild, destroyed, over and over until the army runs out of food and disperses.

If they have a good number advantage, they attack immediately after building siege towers and a battering ram, not even bothering with siege weapons.

In world battles they always tell me they have the advantage.
In my castles I only have t1/2 troop and militia.
Still, they just keep building catapults over and over which are instantly destroyed, until their army runs out of gold/food/morale or whatever.
And I'm playing on "Good" AI.

I want to defend a castle!!
yep sieges never happen like a bethesda game mods are the fix unlike a bethesda game this is early access and not finished

It's true that AI have a big issue with food (like, constanly, and without sieges). They're very often run out of it during a siege and leave. But I actually feel bad for AI when they run out of food after 4-5 day long ASSAULTS, since for them time actually keeps going doring a FIGHT, and they keep spending food. But they still manage to take even towns. For me it's actually like a temp counter to accuring snowballing issue.

Eh? If you building catapults fast enough to instantly destroy their then either you have very high enginering with Empire background or number advantage is not that big.

AI is seriously bad when it comes to siege. I joined an AI army to siege a castle. When all prep are done, enemy AI send an army 1/3 of our size to camp next to us. But my stupid AI leader abandons siege and chases after the small enemy army.

All the siege prep was for nothing. Ultimately, the our army ran out of cohesion and we neither caught the enemy AI army nor captured the castle.

Maybe that unit leader told your army leader that his mother is a dog?
Yep, I've encountered this on several occasions during sieges.
