THE MMORPG of the happiest childhood.
Sadly it got old pretty badly, was great while it lasted.

I've played the game for a few years every now and then as F2P player. Around patch 3.x or 4.x when I started to play for the first time, I loved to play the game for the flight and the pretty graphics. I haven't delved that much into PVP, but around patch 4.2, I started to do more PVE dungeons, it was fun, especially when I had to go through so much trail and error to learn. I became friends with some people and we would hang out in either Verteron or Poeta. Then... patch 6.0 struck, and all the magic was gone. Every patch meant new gear to grind with slightly higher stats than before... I went on with this kind of grind for a few more 6.x patches but it got boring and repetitive and I left.

I might not remember correctly the timeline but... 1 year later or so, patch 7.x launched and some time around that I found out the game gave out some free ultimate gear stuff (Start of end game gear) and other stuff as a tutorial. And to think before I had to spent tons of hours and dungeons runs to get my hand on decent ultimate gear while I was running with legendary gear praying not to get one shotted by people who spent hundreds of money on PVP gears.

I haven't touched the game for past 2 or 3 years but it has a special place in my heart.

Best game in the world, no. I just want to play a bit. I decided to spend a little on inventory space and a mount, well guess what, after encouraging me to buy .... I can't seem to use any of the stupid AION coins that steam was happy to fill and empty my wallet for. I won't purchase anything else on steam. "Non refundable items." The Ducking service should work if you're selling, not constantly telling me to close the window and try again. You lost customer.

I love this gaming in 2.1 then I quited. Classic aion was perfect.

This game is so beautiful, I discovered it through a friend a long time ago but I was playing in Aion NA, I've already played a lot of MMORPG and I've never had fun on any of them beside Aion.
Back time Aion felt like a real good game, it was full of players, it was alive and vibrant, I was a noob going to these big war events that happens between Asmod and Elyos where a lot of them fight each other, I know I am weak but I was just following the Elyos just like a noob camera man to watch how the war is going on and have fun with it, sometimes I die on the way but there is an Elyos who comes after me to save my butt and kill the asmodians and revive me. it was a lot fun, the quests too, everything was fun on this game.
I had to take a break from the game, I haven't played in years, then I cameback to it but decided to play in European Server (on steam a few years ago) I noticed the game starts to change, I tried to play in both servers NA and EU, but still everything changed for me. the game is nice but not as nice as before.
Now I decided to comeback to it again after a long while, and it literally looks dead to me, and what make it worse is I have to buy the gold pack and spend money in-game to be able to create a new character either from the same server or a different server...literally killed the vibe of the game...I would stay neutral if there is a choice of it, but since I love the game a lot and I had lot of fun on it in the past I'll recommend it, And I hope the devs reads my message and update their game and make it much better like how it was a decade ago. And why not create Aion 2.0 with new graphic engine and better graphics and make sure it's not pay to win because it will ruin the game.
