after 2 years I decided to start playing again, how is the status server?

Its pretty dead.Stormwing is the most populated.They will do a merge next year probably.But ye the population is meh.WIth the merge i think will be better.

But the game itself is not so good anymore.A lot of p2win and for new/returning players you dont get a nice welcome.You are very behind and most people are full geared and stuff.Obviously the only people left on the servers are those who spend money on it and some that played for years without stoping.

As new players you struggle like hell as you dont get istances to do with no one because the few players left have their own "premade "or legion.And you dont even have a transformation contract and to get to legendary+ transformation you need cash for sure.Full RNG p2win.

Most people hope 8.0 will save it but i doubht that.Aion is dieng.Sadly.

People who are online are AFK due to events also AFK due to habit.

Also 8.0 wont most likely fix anything, 6.0 was supposed to be the "new beginning" and "saviour patch", but instead it went even more downhill than 5.8.

Community is becoming more toxic than ever, a big population don't speak english and liek Ziggs mentioned, for a new player it is very difficult to actually participate into anything.

I pretty much going to quit now, there is no point playing anymore. I logged in out of habit and I even have endgame gear and upgraded items also transformations. The content is boring, the community is toxic, pvp is non-existant and everyone pretty much zergs for quests.

Try it out yourself, everyone I did play with quit and now I will too.

To put it kindly: Aion hasn't developed in a favorable way. Server merges, bad balancing, pay2win, removed features and areas and a community as toxic, it could be compared with the likes of FIFA and Call of Duty have made many players quit Aion. As you can imagine, those who remain are usually not that kind with beginners either. Some only log in to pay the rent for their houses but server merges made even that pretty much pointless.

I played from the release, left after the last server merge and haven't regretted the descision.

I believe a lot of changes were good.Very good.But the p2win just ruined it.Too mutch p2win since 5.0 and they added too many bad maps that no one care

Bcs they empty..I tried private servers and they all either dead or developers are doing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ job as usual.

Gameforge sucessfully kills every game it touches. Sad but thats the truth.

was thinking of testing this game then i see its P2W and i hate P2W games so thanx for this info

I remember playing this game from Launch and just before it went free to play, spent about 2 years on the game full time due to no Job at the time, there was lots of guilds/legions different players and then it slowly went down after each month, players left for the next best thing, guilds fell out with each other, players couldn't find groups even in there guilds, you had to play 10 hours a day to keep up with P2W players, AIONscript players became regular and Bots all over. In the end due to people moving on in life or to new and better things Guild wars 2 TERA Blade and Soul etc. this game became more and more about money and is just trying to consolidate its players to keep the cash flow coming, due to players refusing to accept the loss of the money they poured in and/or hours you still have players hanging around, It was a great game once upon a time even if gameforge were greedy from the start.

Was one of the best mmorpgs once. I played since start, it had balanced fun pvp and pve. They have killed it with the PTW cash shop and all these redicious bunny,bear ,panda ... skins which give various bonuses, it looks like pokemon online. :(
