I have seen a lot of comments that suggest not to buy this game on PC, i wonder is it really unplayable and should be bought on the other platform. Or it is ok to play and even enjoy.

Depends if you want the HD release or the remastered release that is included with ac3 remastered.
The game was originally a vita only title.

Buy what? The game is delisted and retired. Online servers that are used with denuvo to validate the license are shut down. There is no way to play it offline as stupid Ubisoft wants you to have 24/7 internet connection to their servers to even play offline, which you can't do anymore. This is only the beginning because there are plans to retire all Assassins creed games up until Assassins Creed III and many more.
