Update: Patch has officially moved to ModDB

Your download may fail if your antivirus protection is too strong, simply because the patch is an executable file (exe).

If you are playing for the first time, install just the Basic patch, Plus will modify the game from the original release.

I think so, but you need to start a new save. 9.2 will probably just override 9.1 without anything left behind to interfere, but I would always start fresh just to make sure.

Pretty much this. Always start a new save game to avoid any bugs/glitches but it should be safe to patch a 9.1 game with 9.2.

I've had issues with this where I've had to hit Shift+Tab multiple times before the overlay finally shows. Not sure why that is tbh and I've never bothered trying to fix it. It doesn't work at all for you?

Adding the vampire.exe shortcut as a non-Steam game will give you the overlay if you've tried everything else....

I never even knew about that dialogue. Is that in the basic version of the patch though?

There is dialogue that lets you pass, something along the lines of "the game is so hard, i'm a wimp".

Typical McAfee, it's one of the worst antiviruses to run as a gamer as it's too aggressive (I've heard sometimes it dislikes official files downloaded on Steam too).

This file is safe, I've ran it with Avira which has a better detection rate than McAfee. Source: http://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/

I suggest temporarily disabling it to download.

I'm glad you decided to continue on with the patch. Most people freak out when they see antiviruses giving up false positives :)

I have install the patch and got it working, however i don't seem to have any of the plus options.
Character creation is normal with done of the additional options.
How do I do the Plus version on. The Patcher did not have a patch for it.
