If you are playing for the first time, install just the Basic patch, Plus will modify the game from the original release.

Is this why the 9.0 patch is going to take 10 hours to DL?? I just bought in. I was a LARP participant in this game. Freakin loved it in 1996-97. I hope this game has the same spirit and fun the old LARP version did!

I have tried the 9.2 patch, but it seems to have some problems or I am simply too dumb. The HD is gone, so is the option to skip the intro scene and so are the ability to alter what sort of background there is to your character. I did not delve deeper into it to be honest. I simply uninstalled it and I am going to reinstall the game. Before I add 8.8 instead of 9.2 - I would like to know if it is possible to get the great changes back, that this game saw over the course of time, if they vanishes or, hopefully, how I turn them on since I missed something obvious.

I had this issue myself when I first installed 9.2. Higher resolutions and other things that I KNOW are built into the UP were missing. I simply had to uninstall VtMB, delete the folder from inside my Steam stuff, reinstall the game, and reinstall the patch. The problem is actually NOT with the UP, something got messed up in your VtMB download. What exactly that is, I don't know, but a fresh install fixed it.

Drastically, yes. A lot of things were fixed between 8.8 and 9.2 and a lot of new, cool stuff was restored in 9.2 that 8.8 doesn't have.
