Black screen after loading

Hi guys! Hope you can help me solve an issue I'm having with the game. I've had this issue before the recent update/expansion , but have finally decided to try and get it fixed.

Whenever the game seems to load (ie. load a character or create a new character), the game goes black, and the picture won't return. It also does this when I try and return to the main menu from a character. I'm playing in fullscreen (will test it in windowed mode and report back).

To get the screen to load properly, I need to Alt tab out of the game, and then Alt tab back in. Once the minimized game pops back up, the graphics seem to load with it.

Anyone else have this issue - or know of a way to fix it?

Good comment - I do not have any mods installed.

I just tested the game in borderless mode, and it does not have any issues - so this issue exsists in Fullscreen mode only.

Well, I'm not sure if a 21:9 image aspect ratio is supported, it might - so, basically, I don't know.

It seems supported. The resolution was an option, and the tiles/graphics scale appropraitly without becoming blurry or streached

In windowed mode it runs fine with whatever size of window I need at the moment, so that shouldnt be a problem.

Can you try turning off the Steam Community overlay?

Are you on Windows?

Thanks for the reply! I'm on Windows 8.1.

Just tested the game in fullscreen with Steam Overlay turned off and it still gave me the same issue.

Try turning off all the shaders.

If that doesnt work then please start the game, load to get the black screen, tab to fix it, quit the game and post the t4_log.txt from the games directory somewhere for us.

Also, I just tested the game at 1920x1080 Fullscreen and it didn't have the issue - so it must be resolution related. However, it did hang on six seconds of black screen before the "new character" screen poped up.

For me alt-tabbing to windows and back helped.

Yeah, that has been a pretty stable solution for me as well. I still haven't honed in on what is specifically causing the issue though.
