A first Glimpse

It has been a few months since we announced our game, and we believe it’s time for a new developer’s log. We’re working tirelessly to create a game that will leave a lasting impression on you. It’s no easy task, but we want to share glimpses of our progress with our fans to quench your anticipation for the release.

In this devlog, we’ll cover the following:

Development: Learn how different parts of our team collaborate to build the game’s initial structure—a solid playable foundation for what’s to come.
Characters: Allow us to introduce Sophie, a character who will evoke either love or hate. But Sophie is just the beginning; more intriguing characters await in future devlogs.
Mechanics: Get a sneak peek at the combat system in ‘Catechesis.’ Combat is uncharted territory for us, but we’re striving to create an experience that appeals to both new players and seasoned fans.
Latest News: Did you know it’s been five years since we released ‘Yuppie Psycho’? The overwhelming love from our fans keeps us pushing boundaries. Check out the video for surprises we’ve prepared to celebrate this special occasion.

Catechesis Resurrects from the Dead on its 10th Anniversary Announcement!

Ten years ago, we released a teaser trailer for our first project, Catechesis. It was a small horror game that adapted Resident Evil mechanics with cute pixel art. To our surprise, we received an enthusiastic response that led to features on well-known websites like Kotaku and Polygon. Our trailer garnered thousands of views and built a devoted following of people eagerly anticipating this pixelated survival horror game. It was the early days of the Indie Game Scene.

Eventually, Catechesis was put on hold, and Baroque Decay shifted their focus to smaller projects like The Count Lucanor and Yuppie Psycho.

Now, ten years later and armed with more experience, we are thrilled to announce that Catechesis is back, and we're committed to completing what we started a decade ago.

With his unique talent, Kelly aims to deliver a one-of-a-kind musical experience that players simply can't resist.

Voiceover?

Game looks dope, like other BD games. Voiceover not so much. I really hope it's just to promote and not used in the game at all. It's common for women to voice boys in cartoons & have done it well, but good character skills are needed to make it actually sound like a boy. (Also done really badly, like the US English dub of Naruto). This just sounds like an overly sensitive 30 year old woman talking. If used in the game, it would personally kill it for me. The voice actor might be good at other things, but ...
