no video?

Is anyone else having isses with no video playback? The actual game and menu are visable, but all cut scenes are black, but there is still sound. Any suggestions?

Same for me. Hopefully something gets sorted out, this seems like a great game otherwise.

It's one of my old favorites from the PS1 days. I sent in a message to Steam, I will let you know what I find out!

The only way for me to see the videos is to hit Ctrl+ALT+Del and click on CANCEL to go back to the game's window. That worked on Windows 7 64bit.
I can't change settings, when I open launcher.exe it says "Unable to find Alone4.exe installed on computer".

The pcgamingwiki solution does NOTHING. Ctrl-alt-delete then cancelling works, but has to be done for every video, which is very annoying.

Is there any other solution?

Nevermind. There's an unofficial patch posted in the Controls and Resolution thread that solves the problem as well as the launch.exe issue.

Which link? I tried one, and it replaced the lauch and alone4 exe files, but it didn't work. It did however chance some menu text to another language...

Replacing the launch.exe and alone4.exe files with the unofficial modded GOG files worked for me. Try changing the resolution with launch.exe before running the game.

This didn't work for the video playback issue, all it did for me was change the language of "Quit Game" in the opening menu.

I found a solution, but it will most likely not help everyone. I installed it on my old gaming laptop that runs windows 7, and it works perfectly. Hopefully you guys have a back up computer too!

I thought the game would have at least run but i get the black screen and real low rez in the menu as well. Hopefully they'll provide an official fix sometime. I'm really regretting buying the game now.
