Bug: AI grid penalty = permanent pit lane start

There is an issue with AI cars when they receive a 'grid penalty'.
Now, I don't know what caused them to receive the penalty, but the effect is that they start from pit lane.
The issue is that the penalty never clears, and they are assigned pit lane starts for the rest of the season.

I'm playing 'Create a Team' mode, and after summer break of my first season I noticed this occurring.
By the end of the season there were more cars starting from pit lane than there were lined up on the starting grid.

Before I clicked the calendar over to Jan 1st 2025 I uninstalled the game, cleaned up my PC as best I could, and re-installed the game.
But here we are in the second season, Round 7 at Imola, and already 7 cars are starting from pit lane.


And while I can still play the game, I would consider this a game breaking bug.
It needs correcting ASAP

In my save, Russel has been doing that for the last 10 races for me.

verstappen from the pits is causing so many crashes with the back of the field, its almost a roleplay of him getting a penalty every single race for crashing out of pit lane on lap 1. Game breaking sure but it is also funny!

1/2 or 2/3 of my grid is getting penalties all the time. But not the same as far as i know.

Instead of gird penalty they all start from pitlane. Yet even this feature is wrong, since they start not late enough.

At Spain GP they started so soon from pitlane, that the first of them joined at place 4, when i started at front. There needs more time befre they start from there.

This must be a very strange bug. Done already 30 races and in second season now but didn't see a single pit lane start. It must be some bug that does NOT affect every player, strange enough of course.
