I have always said this feature was overhyped (and a bit misleading in the way it was promoted by frontier). You don't really create your own team. You are just creating a new, 11th team, on the grid. You are just the manager and get fired like you would with any other team on the grid.
It is just a nice gimmic to be able to create a custom team, and it is fun as long as you manage to reach the board's expectations and not get fired.
However, short term goals should be very much part of the game. These would be varied and obviously team specific.
Examples:
They could be financial in nature:
- We don't want debt at the end of the year
- Not acceptable if you exceed the cost cap
They could be sponsor related:
- Increase sponsorship revenue
They could be related to affilates:
- Reduce the number of affiliates because they cost too much
And so on...
I like the idea of non result driven target in the first season.
I did that to continue playing in my second season after a very bad 1st one.
