Swapping engine components

I swapped out my engines between practice 3 and quali and apparently this broke parc ferme. Even though i havent gone out on track for qualifying and i hadnt passed my quota (literally swapped in the first race) i got a max grid penalty for it. I swapped the components before starting the qualifying session.

Surely this is a bug right?

Has to be. Had the same thing happen (but after Q3). And swapping engine parts was always the normal thing to do in the 2 previous games without issue.

It happens even when i swap components before the race weekend starts... kinda unplayable if every weekend i have a 20+ grid penalty

Same issue. Got 10 place grid penalty for changing engine components from practice to qualifying.

You can change the engine and gearbox without punishment, but changing the ERS will give punishment.

This confusion would be very easily SOLVED with a simple warning: "changing this component will result in grid punishment for the next race." Congrats dev!

It's not supposed to if you haven't exceeded your limit. It's a bug, and it's been reported on the dev tracker.
