Gauntlet Dark legacy Style DLC
Everyone knows this game is fun and follows more true to older gauntlet play styles. But Its also a well known fact DaRk Legacy for the Ps2 and other consoles was the best gauntlet game period. And i will list the reasons why , And why possibly it should be considered for future Dlc/ expansion.

This is the old game Gauntlet Dark Legacy For the ps2

Playable characters: Wizard / Knight / Warrior / Archer / Sorceress / Valkyrie / Dwarf / Jester.

Not only is there a mass of characters to choose from but you can Change the Colors from Red blue green yellow which changed the appearences of all characters.
Not only that, but there were hidden unlocks for each character to be changed into a animal / Jackal / Unicorn / Minotaur / Tigress / Medusa / Falconess / Ogre / Hyena. This was able to be chieved by Minigames you can find throughout the levels in the game. Regardless of a ton of characters to choose from this gave an end game goal for us players to work for.

Leveling from 1 -99 gave purpose for all us rpg dorks out there and upon every 10 levels your character would change vanity items and look way better, and even upon further level gaps ie every 20-30 levels you would get a familiar that would also gain vanity things. This is a goal alone for many gamers.

Ontop of leveling you could actualy spend your gold on usefull things like Stat points. Not every characters base stats are the same and they increase with leveling yess but if you wanted to be strong you had to farm gold and raise your stats. Some points in the game were simply too hard if you didnt take up on this. Many more "relics" were available to the game and did not cost potions. Because Potions used to use magic that was extremely helpfull in runing from death, not only that but 4 different elemental types of potions. Every character had their own specials that you could even combine with other players to slaughter rooms. There were six different basic attack combos you can perfom.

***BTW why did death only show up in the new game a few times.... kinda lame he used to be worth something like DRAIN YOUR LEVELS!, trust me no one wanted to ♥♥♥♥ with death***

There were tons of hidden things throughout Stages that you would find your self searching for at higher levels to defeat bosses and what not. Bosses were actualy hard at first and might actualy require you to find the scimitar in act 3 level six to drain most of the GENIE boss'es health off the start. as i stated before there were mini games and actual rewards for trying to stray aside from the normal path. ***The new gauntlet felt like it pushed you in one direction the whole time, i never had to search where to go or anything. If it gave you a barrel you pretty much knew search this room or the room next to it to find where to use it.*** A total of 8 realms that all had sub levels and then hidden realms at the end.

I guess all im getting at is Dark legacy was a really Great game that they should have modeled their new game off of because it had many things that are what new gamers usualy look for in a good purchase. It has many Different things that offer to the completionist style of gaming. It has a leveling system and stats that can reach a top cap for maximum god like if you are the rpg have to have everything maxed out style of gamer. It offeres great adventure with many different realms with a good story and many twists for if your and RPG dork. It is a lengthy game, with a good dificulty level ,with many secrets and high replayability level.

If you could reproduce that game with todays " I Got to have my shinies" a mentality Refering to random drops and random spawns for rare enemies and items then you got a great Dlc or expansion. but regardless if you didn't and just made an expansion based off Dark legacy it would still be killer.

after this game is done with its run(they finish all dlcs and what not)

it would be great to see them make a dark legacy style gauntlet. i forgot how amazing that game really was till zorko pointed out some stuff i forgot about. hell i never even unlocked all hidden characters on it and i put hella hours into that game

If they combined the combat from this game with the level design of that game, I would actually save money because I wouldn't need to buy any other games ever again.

it would be a game of epicness

i really hope this dev team does well. they have potential of making more reboots of other older games not just gauntlet games.

like smash tv is another game that comes to mind. that would be another epic reboot down the road

I wish this game was like Gauntlet Legends / Dark Legacy / whatever version you played
I agree Jeslis. That's what I thought too. :/

I agree, I was expecting more from this game. It could have been bigger than it can get if it was like gauntlet dark legacy. I don't mean the combat but the level design because this games levels are way to close to D3's style and its not that great to look at. I miss the forest, mountain plains, the fire caverns, and the other awesome CREATIVE worlds like nightmare world. I really hope this game gets expanded and they balance the current classes while adding in another 4 heroes that are new at least. It was a fun little adventure but I lost a lot of hype already after beating the final boss.

+1 Dark Legacy was great.

I seem to be the only person here who played Legends and not Dark Legacy lol. Isn't Dark Legacy just Legends with some extra levels and stuff?
Ferrahgo Sep 29, 2014 @ 10:06pm
Yes, it has a few more realms/bosses/playable characters,
Reb Militia Sep 29, 2014 @ 10:07pm
Cool, cuz I loved Legends on N64

I loved the game dearly, but i still cannot deny the simplicity of the game (hold down a regardless of class).. If it had a combat remastery, I would love it even move.

I agree. But I would take it over this any day, sadly. After 9 hours I can't find much reason to keep playing.
