Game does no longer start?

I bought this on Christmas and decided to play again today, but the game just enters a black screen and that's it? Anyone else experiencing this? I tried restarting and updating my drivers to no avail... I verified the game data and reinstalled it - same thing...

I have the solution :-)

On Windows 11 some DirecX files are missing.

So do the following:

1. https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=35 Install the official "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" from Microsoft

2.) Install Visual C++ Redistributable 2005 (this is an all in one pack, you only need to install 2005 x64)

Once I had fixed the Lara Croft game Gauntlet was running too :-)
