Sound Volume too low

Latest update (Slayer 2.0 I'm guessing) the sound volume is really low. Have main level maxed and can barely hear anything.

Windows 7 Home Pre 64bit
Creative X-FI Fatality Plat. Pro driver 6.0.240.8
DTS 5.1 Audio, Logitech Z906 Speakers

Not getting any audio from the game. Not even low noise.
I can swap between my desktop and the game and hear the audio turn off when the game comes back up. I have tried some simple desktop speakers w/ 3.5mm audio cable connected to my audio out. I have also tried some earbuds. No audio from the game in either scenario. I can run music in the background on my computer while the game is running and I can hear that, but nothing from Gauntlet. I'm not using any type of special settings or equipment, just on board audio.

Sounds like the game isn't using the correct device for playback. Did you check your windows audio settings and make sure your speakers are set as the "default device" for playback?

I double checked after your post under Sound ->Playback ->Speakers and they are checked as my default device. I have also tried reinstalling the game, but that didn't change anything. I also tried other games in my library and I'm getting audio in them. Are they any other settings I need to adjust elsewhere in or out of the game?

The only thing I could suggest is unplugging any other audio playback devices like USB Camera, Headset etc. Definetly sounds like the game has an issue with your audio device.

Well, I have no idea what happened, but the game has audio now. I tried to boot it up for the 10 or 11 time today and it showed a fatal error when the game attepted to load and it instructed me to install the game again. (This would be the 4th time I have reinstalled the game.) So, I did and I have audio now.

I wish I knew what happened or what file was corrupt so I could post the solution, but I have nothing.

I found a workaround for low volume. You need to edit your "user_settings.config" file located at "C:\Users\(Your Account Name)\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Gauntlet". Change "master_slider_code = 0" to something higher like "master_slider_code = 20".
