[Help] Fighting morak - thor
I am in need of some tips for fighting morak as thor. Like I do just fine up to the point where he starts spawning chapter 3 enemies. It's those friggin demon imps spitting fire all over the place :\

I can't seem to kill them fast enough and more will just keep spawning. Then it gets to the point where I have to focus my attention on dodging the fireballs and I end up forgetting moraks sword slash and stuff.

The only strategy I can come up with is to rush tackle those imps so that they stop spewing fireballs, then I will do my strong attack and try to kill it fast before more spawn. I have about 50/50 success rate with this.

with the other characters morak is cake, even valkyrie because of her shield block, but thor...I just can't seem to have that kind of success as the others :\

any tips/help would be appreciated :)

If you can, try to use their slow turn speed to your advantage. When fighting a group, wait until they start firing, then charge past the group and attack the one in the back. If they are spread out, stay a short distance perpendicular to your target from the fireballs, then charge the target when the distant fireballs reach you, so you have time for a few hits before they line you up again. If they change positions, don't try to force kill one at half if he is in a terrible position relative to the others.

Does Morak's ground slam hit imps like it does other enemies? I don't remember if they are immune since they are flying. I know I used his own attacks like that to help when I fought him solo as Thor, but I think the last time I was crazy enough to do so was in 2014, so I don't remember if I was able to use it on imps or just regular groups.

edit: Oh, and in some situations you can leap attack in to hit, then charge away, then leap attack to hit again, etc. If you do it perpendicular to the fireballs, you can time it to avoid them. It can take a while to kill though, and it doesn't always work, as fireballs shot from different distances can reach you a full rotation later, sometimes when you aren't in invulnerability frames, if you aren't careful.

ahh I didn't bother to think of charging past and hitting them in the back, I like that idea :) lol and there's just me just trying to ram them head on ;(

So if they are all spread out, wait until they all fire their shots and then charge at the closest one. I like this, kind of like baiting all of their fireballs out at once then try to quickly get a few hits in.

And I think morak does hurt the imps, not sure though...I did attempt using trying to, but I wasn't paying attention because of all the fireballs flying around lol. When I play again later, I'll keep a watch to see if it does. I wish thor's strong attack would just chop them in half or do like 50% damage to them, that way it would only take two strong attacks instead of like 3-4 xD

The only almost impossible and super frustrating boss with thor is the cave one. the first and the third just require a bit of attention the first for avoiding projectiles spammings while charging around the boss leg and morak because of fireballs, thats the biggest obstacle you can find on morak with thor.
However, i wonder why this game isnt in the bulletstorm category yet, i find that sometimes avoiding projectiles, fireballs and explosions with thor looks like a bulletstorm game :D

lol so true. It really is like a bulletstorm game with the morak fight xD

I mean, it wouldn't hurt if they took out the imps...there is already enough stuff to deal with, like those darn summoners for example. I don't consider myself a bad player, but that's just way too much to deal with for a hack and slash kind of game. I like to kill stuff and not having to spend most of the time dodging and barely getting hits in.

Yea, the mummy and lizard fight are pretty easy, just a ton of kiting. Although I do hate when the mummy summons a set of spawners almost right after you destroyed the current two...

Watch this guy do it, try to pick up some tricks. The biggest thing I learned is the best way to prioritize your targets and be patient. Spend a lot of time charging to get out of jams.

awesome vid, thanks for linking :D

I see that the person has quite a bit of patience, carefully picking off specific targets at the right time. I think that's the problem with me...I'm kinda impatient and always charging in...lol.

The person waited until morak splitted into his images then took out those more beefier enemies. This would require me to be patient which I will definitely improve xD

When I watched this video, I saw him not go after certain enemies and thought to myself, "I would have attacked there". Then I see him survive where I likely would have died. Patience is definitely the key here. Just have to keep practicing.

What a fight! :D

I agree, patience in this fight is your way to victory.

The CROWN they have in this GAUNTLET is such a cool idea...that one item adds so much to the game play...do I try and get the Crown or not???

And of course, you have to luv the Golden Turkey!
