And the Dominate ability along with a charm relic is really over-powered -- you can ghost walk through a horde and fire off a charm, then ghost walk ahead a bit and fire off another charm and finally ghost walk once again and fire off yet another charm to tame a gigantic area of monsters.
Since I have unlocked every single achievement in the base game and I just have the last 3 necro DLC achievements to unlock, it's really tempting to buy the necro DLC. I just hate supporting the DLC gaming model and I've been holding off for a sale where the DLC is 50% off for $2.50 and I'll probably buy it then.
Where? I'm leery of third-party non-Steam sites that sell keys and stuff. I don't trust them.
The only reason I was holding off on buying the DLC was because I'm an opponent of the DLC model that locks game content without providing mod tools or map editors. It's a terrible direction that PC gaming is heading where they force you to buy season passes for the same price as the base game and only give you half-hearted recycled content.
But these developers earned my money with their support. Keep up the good work, Arrowhead!
I like the first weapon best, even though i havn't tried the other ones as much.
The spirit one is sooo ♥♥♥♥ when you don't have any souls, and it takes forever to kill something with that ranged attack.
As for the mind control weapon, i bought it yesteday... Didn't really like it. Though that is probably because i don't know how to use it properly yet.
Relics, i go for RoM. Usually every room I enter i will run to a spawner, pop the relic and the mirrors get more then enough souls for me to pop 5 "extra soul" skeletons. And while i do this I try to spirit walk back and forth with the hammer slam ability.
Drain HP potion is very good. The ressurect potion kinda sucks, because whomever you ressurect will have almost no health. The last potion i haven't tried yet.
I might upload a video on it in the future, as I haven't seen any how-to's for the necro yet.
Anyone know about the Special abitlity of the Scepter of the Vampire King? There must be something which gives you health back ...
Weapon
Sceptre of the Vampire King works like the Siren Flute but I believe it has a bigger AOE area than the flute. But I still prefer those Skeletal Archers for they have ranged attacks and kill
pretty fast, and usually I can summon 10 of them in a short time.
Relic
I prefer Ring of Mirrors over Siren Flute simply because if your Illusions can reach Rank 3, they are literally unstoppable. Charming of monsters to fight for you is good but sometimes I will accidentally kill them off and when the charming spell ends, they will still coming charging at you.
Tailmans
Dark Hunger worked very well and saved me from death many times when I was swarmed with mobs and low on health.
Anyway these are just my preferred gears.
