For those interested in this information, I am not advising nor condoning emulating old video games that are basically abandonware at this point, but for anyone interested in playing GDL online with friends, you can use Dolphin and LEGALLY ACQUIRE the ISO for the game then play it online with friends; it even has built-in save syncing so the host can save the game and their characters.
We sometimes run Legends or Dark Legacy on a 16 foot theater screen.
Do a little dungeon smashing between movies.
There are a number of platforms you can pick, including MAME if you want the coin-op experience.
I mean visually it looks just fine, even at 16 feet by 9 feet.
9 foot tall Pac-Man and Galaga is a hoot too or Wizard of Wor, but that's kind of off topic.
Yea shame there was never a PC port of Legends or Darklegacy, either one.
Seven Sorrows is ok too.
Dreamcast or Gamecube version is fine and the PS version for Seven Sorrows since i dont think there is another.
They could leave the graphics as they are.
We need a remake of Gauntlet Dark Legacy the best game!
We dont need a remake of that, nothing to remake about it, its fine as it is.
A port of the executable would be nice for convenience sake, but dolphin and flycast work fine.
Not to mention, no one has the rights to do it
You should shut up because nobody asked for your f'ed-up opinion, and besides that's a bunch of bs and you know it as everyone who loves Gauntlet: Dark Legacy "which is a lot of people" would love to see a remake or even a remastered version get made.
I would not like a remake or a remaster, nothing really to remake or remaster to it.
Now i would like to see a proper PC port.
Be easier for a lot of people than emulating it.
Not sure which source to go with?
Really, i would probably offer people both, the arcade version and say the gamecube version.
If i was the genius doing it, for historical reasons, i would do
Arcade - Gauntlet Legends
Dreamcast - Gauntlet legends
Arcade - Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Gamecube - Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Only real modification i would do is to add code to facilitate network co-op
couch co-op they already have.
But they would simply be source ports to PC, no remaking/remastering, no assets modified.
If you play any of those in MAME or Flycast or Dolphin now, you will see that they dont really need any tinkering, they play great and look absolutely great
To remake what?
Just buy the disc off ebay or amazon and play it.
