They didn't even make this remake right. Where are the mazes? Why can I not run through enemies with fight power? The 1985 orginal still hasn't been beaten on gameplay, pacing and level design.

Those Magica devs didn't play the OG in the arcade, that is clear. Hammerwatch too is terrible like that crappy Garrison on the Amiga.

They shut down a long time ago. That won't happen sadly. Still, a faithful remake should happen. I have played that game in both Arcade and N64. Total gem imo.

Like YES poppin the exact same game from the arcade here on steam would make LOADS of sales. If they also made an ENHANCED version of that to ship with the original then you would have the BEST of both worlds...so far EVERYONE has failed to recreate a classic 35 year old game. One that I used to play as a surefire FAV when it was in the arcades. Honestly, proper 4 player COUCH or ONLINE Original Gauntlet would be pure FIRE for EVERY RETRO gamer, and even some of the newbies!
