Does your Thor prefer Boots of Ranadam or Ring of Mirrors?
One cannot deny the sheer power that Boots of Ranadam can give you with the right weapons, but there's also the one little caveat with Thor that the Ranadam speed boost actually increases the tickdown rate of his More of Thor potion. It makes the effect expire faster than normal.

Because of this, I have given up Ranadam altogether on Thor and use Ring of Mirrors almost exclusively, with both Destructo Spin and Demonic Cleave. In Spins case, it gives me a distraction for enemies as I come out of my spin animation, and in Cleaves case it's just free damage, but it doesn't negatively affect More of Thor the way Ranadam does.

I use Boots. The skill ceiling is higher which makes it more enjoyable to play. Mirrors is effective and easy to use, but limited to one area, which is a hindrance when you need to either focus a specific target or kill targets which are spread out in the map.

Say for instance you’re in the hell levels of 37+ endless, Boots is more effective, allowing you to charge in and take out multiple red wizards spread throughout the crowd and retreat back before cultist explosions. Ring of Mirrors can only deal with a small section of that, but it does tend to be more effective at drawing attention away.

As far as using Boots at the same time as More of Thor, I would advise against using any relic at the same time. I would rotate your cooldowns, using Boots first and then activating your potion, followed by Boots again if necessary.

Right, I agree, but I'm saying that More of Thor is unique in that if you use Boots of Ranadam while it's active, it actually expires faster. I'm not sure why this is the case; my only guess is that the game treats it as a debuff, or a negative status effect like poison.

I prefer Destructo Spin to Cleave anyway, I play a more defensive Thor, so Ring of Mirrors tends to go better with that specific move, I find. The only one I use Ranadam with now is Thyra, partly because it makes her an absolute beast in close range, partly because her RoM clones absolutely suck.

I use Boots on all characters except Merlin, but I also cycle around weapons and relics on all characters except Merlin.

Boots with the Elf is fantastic and really fun to play, borderline untouchable for the duration, but they do shorten the duration of Dryad’s Song. Again, it just teaches you to rotate cooldowns and manage the space around your character.

Boots in Lilith is interesting. The recovery animation doesn’t recover faster with boots which makes it a little weaker. But she can naturally void walk and avoid all/most attacks with practice anyway, so it’s not a big deal. I still cheese with Mirrors on her most of the time, but that’s because I like playing minion builds and that just helps create space and keep them alive.

I actually tend to move away from using boots with Thyra, prefering Freeze ring or Tempest, and using divine aegis. I play her as a support character and I focus on disruption and defending my team mates. It works really well in solo as well, but it is slower.

I’ve seen people like Solinarius use Boots with Channeling school on Merlin to great effect, but since I have plowed through 14k levels of endless as Void, I’ve become stuck in my ways for Merlin. I just don’t get as much enjoyment from the other weapons anymore.

For me, there's no substitute for RoM on Questor or Merlin; their minions are ranged and output so much damage in their short duration. Especially important on my Merlin since I run Eldritch, not Void (Void is too difficult for me to play). I could see myself using Freeze Ring on a Shield Throw Thyra though.

Thyra has Summon Valkyries anyway, and they blow RoM out of the water.

I prefer the combo Boots + the medal for potion ability (More of Thor!) With that you can easily destroy 2 summoning stones (or 3 if you are soloing and are fast enough). If you are starting the game, you may want to stick to the Ring of Mirrors until you understand enough of the mechanics of the game to jump to the Boots.
